Court Reinstates RT Hon Ayuba Nuhu Abok as Speaker Plateau State House of Assembly
A Plateau State High Court in Jos has reinstated Rt Hon Ayuba Nuhu Abok as the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly. Delivering judgement, Justice M. L Musa of Plateau State High Court 6 reinstated Hon. Nuhu Abok as Speaker following a prolonged legal battle since his impeachment in October 2021 by about 8 out of the 24 member of the Plateau State House of Assembly.
However, in its judgment, the Court upheld the submissions of the plaintiff that the impeachment was illegal and therefore null and void. The Court further awarded the sum of N1.5million as cost of appearance and the sum of N138,000 as cost of filing the matter against the defendants.
