The Nigerian Army has officially launched the recruitment process for its 89th Regular Recruits Intake, inviting both tradesmen and non-tradesmen, including women, to apply. The announcement was made on the Army’s official social media handle on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the recruitment exercise is open to all interested candidates who meet the necessary criteria. The online application process started on March 31, 2025, and will run until May 17, 2025. Those wishing to apply can do so for free by visiting the Nigerian Army’s official recruitment website at http://recruitment.army.mil.ng.
Applicants are advised to submit only one application, as multiple submissions will result in disqualification. The recruitment process will involve a screening exercise, which will take place from June 2 to June 16, 2025, at the candidate’s state of origin. Shortlisted applicants will be required to report to their respective states for the screening.
The Army has outlined the following eligibility requirements for applicants:
- Applicants must be single, Nigerian citizens by birth, and must possess a National Identity Card (NIN), Bank Verification Number (BVN), and a valid birth certificate or age declaration.
- Candidates must be free of any criminal convictions and must meet the Nigerian Army’s medical, physical, and psychological fitness standards.
- The minimum height requirement for male candidates is 1.68 meters, and for female candidates, it is 1.65 meters.
- Additionally, applicants must possess a valid certificate of state of origin.
