A northern pressure Group Called Arewa Movement For Actionable Change(AMFAC) threatens the United Bank Of Africa UBA over the rumored sack of over 2000 staff. This was contained in a press release by the group in Abuja on Friday.
The spokesman of this organization comrade Sabitu Magaji reiterated that some years back, UBA did the same thing to their staff and it is becoming a norm in the bank because nobody is questioning them. Sabitu said,” we can’t continue like this, Tony Elemelu is carefree about his workers, UBA are not the only bank in Nigeria facing difficulties, the same marketers that generated over 300 billion in three years are the same people that are about to be sacked, if you sack your cashiers we will not even bother but marketers that suffer the most, moving under the sun and rain fall, risk their lives to go into remote villages to get customers are the same people that might eventually suffer this act.
We call on the management of UBA to do something positive about this situation if not we will withdraw our services and advise everyone through our massive social media engagements to stop using the bank”
Till this moment there hasn’t been any official statement by the Bank about this situation but all fingers are crossed waiting for what ever the outcome might be.
