The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus on Thursday, December 17, led other members of the party to stage a peaceful protest in Abuja to press their demands over the rescue of the kidnapped Katsina schoolboys.
1st News gathered the PDP Chairman joined hundreds of women and youths who were protesting the abduction of over 300 students of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The protesting women and youths were demanding the immediate and safe rescue of students abducted last week.
It was reported the protesters had stormed the Presidential campaign headquarters of the PDP in Maitama, Abuja, displaying various placards bearing such inscriptions as “Buhari has failed,” “Buhari, bring back our boys,” “Buhari values his cows more than human lives,” among others.
According to them, the time had come for the President to throw in the towel, saying his inability to secure the nation is now glaring for all to see.
Standing in solidarity with the protesting women and youths, the PDP Chairman noted that the situation in the country had become too dangerous for silence even as he called on the President to immediately bring the abducted students back and unhurt.
Meanwhile, the terrorist group, Boko Haram on Thursday, December 17, released a video showing that it has custody of the students abducted from a government secondary school in Kankara, Katsina State.
In the six-minute-and-30-second video released by Boko Haram, scores of young boys could be seen behind him, all covered in dust and appearing to be within a forest area.
The demands of the group were relayed by a relatively older schoolboy who urged the Nigerian Government to settle amicably with their abductors and advised against the use of military force in rescuing them.
Some of the others were crying but they claimed they were in good health.
According to the boy who spoke, they were 520 in number but some of them were killed because the government sent troops to rescue them.

A voice behind the camera could be heard telling the pupil what to say.
“We have been caught by the gangs of Abu Shekau; some of us were killed,” the distraught student said.
The Boko Haram abductors in the video said they kidnapped the students because the government refused to stop killing and arresting Fulani criminals.
“We did this because you refused to stop killing and arresting Fulani,” one of them said.
