In a bid to enhance security and promote peaceful coexistence in Plateau State, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has held an expanded meeting with key stakeholders in the Jos and Bukuru metropolis. This meeting follows recent national protests and the imposition of a curfew in the area.
Speaking at the Old Government House Rayfield, Governor Mutfwang emphasized his vision for a peaceful, united, and prosperous Plateau State. He called on stakeholders to set aside their differences and work together to create a progressive and harmonious environment.
“It is possible for us to build a new Plateau. We must put aside our differences and embrace each other to create a conducive working atmosphere to grow our economy. It is my desire that we should have a common understanding. We must collectively work to build Jos because when Jos is peaceful, the entire Plateau will be peaceful. We are trusting God that the glorious days when people came to Jos for holidays and commercial activities will return,” said Governor Mutfwang.
Hon. Adamu Aliyu, representing Jos North-North Constituency, praised the Governor’s efforts, describing him as a leader committed to the peace and progress of Plateau State. He urged the populace to support the administration in building enduring peace.
The Chairman of Jama’atu Nasril Islam and the Emir of Wase, Alh. Muhammadu Sambo Haruna, commended the Governor for his proactive measures to restore peace, condemning the actions of criminal elements trying to disrupt the state.
The meeting saw the attendance of several dignitaries, including the Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Madaki Ajiji; Secretary to the Government of the State, Arc. Samuel Jatau; Chief of Staff, Hon. Jeremiah Satmark; Senator Napoleon Bali; Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Philemon Daffi; and the Adviser to the Governor on Security and Coordinator of Operation Rainbow, among others.
