In a historic move to rejuvenate the entertainment scene on the Plateau, the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Plateau State Chapter, held a groundbreaking synergy meeting with the DJ’s Association of Nigeria (DJAN), Plateau State Chapter. The meeting took place at 18 Street, Jos, and focused on uniting key stakeholders in the industry for sustainable growth and collaboration.
In his opening remarks, PMAN Governor, Amb. Humphrey Iroegbu (popularly known as Color), welcomed attendees and emphasized the importance of the gathering. “This meeting is very crucial and timely. It’s the first of its kind—PMAN and DJs on the Plateau coming together like this,” he stated. “We have everything—talent, resources, creativity. What we need is unity, and that is what this meeting represents.”
Amb. Iroegbu expressed optimism that the collaboration between performing musicians, DJs, and other entertainment stakeholders would bring about a positive transformation in the state’s entertainment sector. “After this meeting, we believe there will be a positive change. We are laying the foundation for Plateau’s entertainment sector to thrive again,” he added.
Echoing the sentiment, DJAN Chairman, DJ Martin Shalvong (DJ Dado), expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, describing it as a long-overdue step toward harmony in the industry. “This gathering will bring massive unity between musicians and DJs. We need more of this kind of collaboration to build a better industry,” he said.
The meeting featured an extensive discussion among artists and DJs, highlighting the challenges facing the industry and proposing practical solutions to move forward. Stakeholders agreed on the need for regular engagements, strategic partnerships, and a collective effort to revive Plateau’s vibrant music and entertainment culture.
The synergy meeting marks a significant step toward a united entertainment front in Plateau State, with both associations pledging continued collaboration for the benefit of the creative community.
