The Performing Association of Nigeria (PMAN) Plateau State Chapter has set its sights on further activities towards revamping the activities of the entertainment industry in Plateau state
The state chapter had earlier put up a well-structured and furnished Secretariat, located at Luka Bentu Theatre, Opposite Plateau Riders, Jos, Plateau State and also unveiled a new Biometric Identity (I.D) Card that offers the holder benefits of accessing Loans, Health Insurance and Life Insurance.
PMAN Plateau state governor, Amb. Comr. Humphrey IROEGBU aka ‘Colour’, has also led a team of state excos to meet with stakeholders in the Entertainment /Creative industry and other concerned associations and groups under the Union to unite together, some of the associations include the Plateau State Bloggers and Online Media Association, DJ Associations, Actor’s Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Plateau State Chapter, Amongst others.
In his remarks about the recent rejuvenation of the union, PMAN Governor Plateau State chapter, Amb. Comr. Humphrey ‘Colour’, stated that the Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN) is the only registered Trade Union in Nigeria that relates to creativity and entertainment in Nigeria as PMAN was set up as the regulator for these industries.
He said that in line with its objectives towards protecting and promoting the interests of musicians in Plateau state and Nigeria, the state executive has been endorsing genuine and legal event’s happening in Jos, Plateau State and also supporting events in its little way encouraging them to do more.
The PMAN Governor said that during this present administration, the State chapter played a vital role by evacuating some of the students of the university of Jos during the crises to their various homes.
“The union has also met with the Gubernatorial aspirants of plateau State come 2023 to know their plans or what they have for the entertainment industry and how they can help the entertainers on the Plateau. Further stressing how entertainers and the general creatives are being neglected in terms of empowerment, platforms to showcase their God-given talents, political processes, involvement, and representation.
Furthermore, PMAN plateau State chapter is preparing for the Biggest, Loudest Most Anticipated Award ever on the Plateau, which will have the attendance of some founding fathers and stakeholders of PMAN all the way from Lagos. Starting from Charlie Boy, Mummy Onyeka Onwelu, Sir. Orits Wiliki, Sir. Mike Okri, and a host of others.
