A three-storey structure under construction has collapsed, with workers trapped in the rubble in the Kubwa neighborhood of Abuja. Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) disclosed that the incident happened at midnight on Friday, August 26, 2022.
The building collapsed at Hamza Abdullahi Street Off Gado Nasco Road in Katampe Ccommunity, Kubwa Resettlement Town.
Rescue efforts have started at the three-storey building, according to National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) officials.
The number of persons trapped in the building or who suffered casualty is yet to be ascertained. A resident, however, said some injured persons have been rescued and taken to the hospital.
