Who is Mr. Murph?

Every so often you hear a different sound from Nigerian artists, and this is one of those instances. 

Mr. Murph is a singer/songwriter from Jos. Raised in a Nigerian household, Mr. Murph developed his diverse taste in music through a combination of  cultural and social influences. His home upbringing coupled with his vast musical collection allowed him to absorb an eclectic mix of musical styles and techniques.

Mr. Murph has also created a solid foundation for himself, being in touch with and thriving from his heritage, Mr. Murph constantly travels to different cities to immerse himself in the culture whilst staying ahead of the latest musical trends. 

Having been raised on the greats such as Sunny Ade, Fela, Ebenezer Obey and Shina Peters, Mr. Murph was amazed and excited by the growth, potential and inevitable success of the Nigerian and African diaspora music scene and its mainstream appeal.

His style of music is fuji fused with pop and local elements .Theme’s in Mr. Murph’s music includes self-empowerment of oneself, and also he sings about love. Mr. Murph believes “his music is about being who you are, and been accepted for who you are and also going for your dreams, no matter how weird they may be”.

After collaborating with Producers like Dreyga (who has worked with a number of high profile artists) for over a decade, they have created the perfect blend of soothing vocals infused with the undeniably rhythmic Afro sounds.

His new single titled ‘’Different’’ is a low tempo solid jam and was produced by hit maker ‘’Milez’. This song is so personal to him. It was sung with great passionate vocals of his, coupled with the fantastic production by Milez, this song is sure to rule the industry soon.
