Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar expressed concern on Thursday about the controversy surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s submission of a certificate from Chicago State University to the Independent National Electoral Commission. Atiku emphasized that Nigeria’s reputation is at risk due to this issue and called on relevant stakeholders to ensure the truth is established regarding the certificate submitted by the President.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Atiku, who ran as the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, stressed the significance of this matter, stating that it impacts Nigerians both at home and abroad.
Additionally, Atiku invited Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, to join him in the pursuit of justice for the country. He clarified that this endeavor is not about his personal interests but rather a collective effort to promote truth, morality, justice, and accountability in Nigeria’s public affairs.
He further called upon all well-meaning Nigerians, including leaders of thought, religious figures, traditional leaders, community leaders, and political leaders from various parties, to unite in this campaign to instill accountability and fundamental principles of justice, morality, and integrity in the nation and its government.
