The Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has alleged that the COVID-19 vaccine is meant to bring about a disease that would kill people.
1st News had reported that Nigeria has ordered batches of the vaccines in a bid to stem the spread of the second wave.
However, Governor Bello, in a viral video, where he was seen addressing a crowd on Monday, January 18, expressed worries over the vaccines.
He said, “Vaccines are being produced in less than one year of COVID-19. There is no vaccine yet for HIV, malaria, cancer, headache, and for several other diseases that are killing us.
“They want to use the vaccines to introduce the disease that will kill you and us. God forbid.
“We should draw our minds back to what happened in Kano during the Pfizer polio vaccines that crippled and killed our children. We have learned our lessons.
“If they say they are taking the vaccines in the public allow them to take their vaccines. Don’t say I said you should not take it but if you want to take it open your eyes before you take the vaccines.”
Bello has constantly expressed doubt over the existence of COVID-19 and was even at a time accused by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) of frustrating efforts to carry out tests for the disease in Kogi State.
Meanwhile, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), on Monday, January 18, challenged the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, to post photo and video evidence of Christians who are allegedly members of Boko Haram.
This was contained in a statement issued by the CAN General Secretary, Joseph Daramola, who stated this in an interview.
Daramola was reacting to allegations by Zulum that Christians are members of the Abubakar Shekau terror group.
1st News had reported that Zulum alleged on Friday at an event in Lagos that Asians, foreigners, and other Africans are part of the terror group.
The governor had said, “I’m from Borno State, and many of our children are into Boko Haram. I’m not denying the fact. But again, they are being sponsored by many people across the world. Among Boko Haram, we have white men, Asians, Africans, Muslims, and Christians.”
