Billi Marz: Challenges Upcoming artiste face in the music race

Billi Marz also known as Billionmarz expresses his challenges in the music race, he explained how he has been trying hard to cope with school and music at the same time.

Below is the interview session with the exceptional Billi Marz:

4WARDWEGO: May we know you?

Reply: I go by the name BILLI MARZ, and I hail from Niger state. I’m a 21 year old song writer / producer based in Lagos.

4WARDWEGO: What first got you into music?

BILLI MARZ: I happened to be around a tragic and depressing environment. So music was like a companion because that was the only thing keeping me away from lots of trouble .

4WARDWEGO: How many songs have you recorded so far, and how can we get them?

BILLI MARZ: Truth is , I have multiple records. But my team and I released an EP recently containing 6 songs. And they are available on : SPOTIFY, APPLE MUSIC , ITUNES , AUDIOMACK, YOUTUBE , GOOGLE and other streaming platforms.

4WARDWEGO: Have your song ever been aired on the radio?

BILLI MARZ: My songs have been aired couple of times. And one of my songs titled “ENERGY” made it to the top chat “song of the week” on RHYTHM FM.

4WARDWEGO: Who or what inspired you to make music?

BILLI MARZ: I was inspired by couple of artists who came from similar backgrounds as mine. But I came from nothing, so obviously I got inspired to change the whole situation happening around me as of then .

4WARDWEGO: Tell us about your creative process?

BILLI MARZ: My creative process comes through connections. These are my relationship with people or my state of being at a particular point in time. When writing a song, I literally go through various experiences I had stored up in my head, then all I have to do is talk about that situation in a way people could relate. And I prefer having these processes during the mornings. Early hours to be precise.

4WARDWEGO: Are you a student?

BILLI MARZ: Yes I am a student of University of Jos.

4WARDWEGO: How do you cope doing music and school at the same time? What are the challenges?

BILLI MARZ: The challenges of been an artist and a student the same time falls under timing. I will say it’s difficult handling both duties, and I cannot lie to myself. I try my best to attend to the necessary activities when I’m supposed to, academically and on my field of entertainment.

4WARDWEGO: Who would you like to collaborate with the most?

BILLI MARZ: I’ll love to collaborate with artists who basically have the same vision as I do at the studio and to the society at large.

4WARDWEGO: Which is your favourite song?

BILLI MARZ: Energy by Billi marz

4WARDWEGO: Which famous musicians do you admire?.

BILLI MARZ: I admire the likes Nasty C , wizkid and Jay Z

4WARDWEGO: Have you ever dealt with performance Anxiety?

BILLI MARZ: Sure. I was always having an adrenaline rush when it gets to anything that has to deal with stage performance. I thought maybe it was because of the quality time I spent indoors to create music, so that got to me. But I dealt with the whole anxiety issues by hanging out more .

4WARDWEGO: Tell me about your favourite performance

BILLI MARZ: My Favorite performance for me will be every moment that I make my fans happy . And that should be every moment when I’m on stage .

4WARDWEGO: Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

BILLI MARZ: I see myself putting out bigger records. I mean I hope for international collaborations.

4WARDWEGO: What should we expect next from you?

BILLI MARZ: I’ll say people should expect a better me, every season that goes by .

4WARDWEGO: What are some of the challenges you face as an independent Artist?

BILLI MARZ: I’m signed currently to #Lankorecords but whether independent or not, the industry isn’t an easy industry. It’s not a place to relax. It’s a place of war for me, coz you have to fight through so many obstacles just to prove to people that you’re the perfect brand. But all these challenges are definitely going to pay off someday, we all hope.

4WARDWEGO: Lastly, What advice do you have for your fellow artist?

BILLI MARZ: I advice my fellow artists to keep believing, stay positive because dreams come true .
