The Plateau State Government, under the leadership of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has been working tirelessly to boost food production and empower the less privileged in the state. In line with this vision, Chief Dr. Moses Nwan, mni, Executive Private Secretary to the Governor and National President of the College of Education Gindiri Alumni Association (CEGAA), has been instrumental in empowering underprivileged members of his hometown in Pushit Ward, Mangu Local Government Area.

On June 4, 2025, Chief Dr. Nwan marked Governor Mutfwang’s second year in office by distributing fertilizer and cash donations to carefully selected beneficiaries across the 28 units of Pushit, with a focus on widows and people with disabilities. The intervention aims to support the ongoing agricultural season and complement the Governor’s broader efforts to boost food production across Plateau State.

Barr. Mrs. Olivia Dazyam, Chairperson of the Plateau State Gender and Equal Opportunities Commission who is the keynote speaker, commended Governor Mutfwang’s initiative on gender equality issues, saying, “The bill was passed into law in 2015, but the previous administration neglected it. However, with the coming on board of Governor Mutfwang, he immediately looked into the law and implemented it by opening the commission which I’m heading.”, the bill has given sure protection to every citizen on the plateau and has solved so many family crisis and violence against any gender and child right act

Hon. Sani Abubakar Golden, Liaison Officer of Mangu North, appreciated Chief Dr. Moses Nwan’s vision of empowerment, saying, “The intervention will impact positively on the lives of the people, as the fertilizers and cash donations will aid them in this year’s farming season, which in turn will bring bumper harvest.” He also commended Governor Mutfwang’s proactive measures in terms of security, which has restored peace back to Pushit and its environs, and his intervention on various roads projects mostly the one connecting Pushit to Gindiri his constituency.

The Mishkaham Pushit, Da. Diner Gupiya, thanked Chief Dr. Moses Nwan for the impactful empowerment he has been doing for the people, saying, “His intervention on the fertilizer and cash donations is on a measurable scale. The people are happy because they now have fertilizers to farm with, and with the monetary donations, it’s like he has done virtually everything for them.”

The event drew a host of dignitaries and government officials, all united in celebrating both the Governor’s milestone and Dr. Nwan’s deep commitment to community development. The grateful beneficiaries praised the timely support, describing it as a lifeline during a difficult farming season.

In their words of appreciation, they offered prayers for the continued success of Governor Mutfwang’s administration and pledged their support for his re-election in 2027. Goodwill messages were delivered by prominent personalities, including Barr. Mrs. Olivia Dazyam, Hon. Alhaji Sani Idris Shilak, and Hon. Matthew Datong, among others.

The traditional rulers, including His Royal Highness the Mishkaham Pushit and Mishkaham Pukah, commended Dr. Nwan for his tireless efforts in improving the welfare of citizens, describing him as a beacon of hope not just for Pushit but for communities across Plateau State.

The atmosphere was filled with joy, generosity, and optimism, reflecting a shared commitment to building a greener and more prosperous Plateau State. The event also served as a platform to extend best wishes to Dr. Nwan’s son, Panshak, and his bride-to-be, Esther, ahead of their wedding taking place on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in Jos.
