This prestigious election, which took place on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN) headquarters in Abuja, saw a gathering of formidable leaders from across Nigeria’s agricultural education landscape. Amidst a competitive but transparent and peaceful electoral process, Dr. Chukwu emerged victorious, a clear testament to his widely respected leadership, vision, and commitment to advancing the agricultural and One-Health education sectors in Nigeria.
Dr. Chukwu’s emergence is not just a personal achievement but a proud moment for FCVMLT, Vom, and indeed the entire agricultural and health education community. His track record of innovation, integrity, and transformational leadership has once again been recognized by his peers nationwide.
For the benefit of the wider audience, it is essential to understand the critical role of NACHCARD in Nigeria’s agricultural and educational ecosystem.
The National Committee of Heads of Colleges of Agriculture and Related Disciplines (NACHCARD) is a strategic body representing the interests of all Federal and State Colleges offering agriculture and related disciplines in Nigeria. NACHCARD plays a pivotal role in:
Advocating for policy reforms that support sustainable agricultural development and education;
Advising government and relevant stakeholders on strategies to strengthen Nigeria’s food security and agricultural productivity;
Promoting synergy among agricultural institutions to align with national goals, such as economic diversification and the revitalization of the livestock and crop production sectors; and
Championing curriculum innovation, research, and training that equip graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary for modern agriculture, veterinary, medical laboratory technology, and related fields.
Dr. Chukwu’s election to lead this noble body at such a time underscores his national relevance and the growing recognition of FCVMLT, Vom, as a hub of excellence and leadership in One-Health and agricultural technology training.
