Jos, August 7, 2024 — The Plateau State Government has announced a relaxation of the 24-hour curfew previously imposed on the Jos-Bukuru metropolis, following improvements in the security situation in the area.
Starting from today, residents will be allowed to move freely between 2 PM and 6 PM daily until further notice. This decision was made by Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang after consultations with security agencies, who have been commended for their diligence and commitment to ensuring strict compliance with the curfew.
Governor Mutfwang emphasized the importance of continued vigilance to prevent any potential breakdown of law and order. He assured residents that the government would keep reviewing the curfew as the situation improves. The governor urged residents to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities promptly.
The governor also commended the residents for their patriotism and cooperation during the curfew, highlighting that their compliance is crucial for the collective interest of the state.
