A fire that ravaged the well-known Alaba International market in the Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State damaged goods worth millions of Naira.
According to reports, the fire began on Friday morning in a store where gas cylinders were kept before engulfing other areas of the market.
Additionally, it was discovered that the traders used self-help to put out the fire before help could arrive.

However, Margaret Adeseye, the director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, revealed in a statement on Friday that the event had turned into a security crisis because agency representatives were unable to enter the market.
The statement said, “Shops in the well-known Alaba International Market, Ojo, Lagos, are on fire, according to a report reaching Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.

Fire Crew from Ojo, Sari-Iganmu, and Ajegunle are currently on standby but are being prevented from carrying out their statutory duties by enraged mobs.
Adeseye stated that the organization was working with security personnel to resolve the situation as a result.
