The Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman Plateau State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, His Majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba CRF has urged the Berom Nation to be more united and avoid divisive tendencies if progress and development are to be achieved in the Land.
The Paramount Ruler also enjoined the people to always prioritise God and put their trust in him no matter the situations they may find themselves.
He stressed the place of God in human endeavours and how seriously the Berom Nation should take God considering their experiences especially the insecurity that is bedeviling it.
He made these disclosures at the 2024 Nzem Berom Riyom/Aboro which held at Riyom Local Government Headquarters on 25th April, 2024.
The Royal Father stressed the place of purposive unity to the progress and development of the Berom Nation, Plateau State and Nigeria at large.
Earlier in his welcoming remarks, Dagwom Rwey (District Head) of Riyom, His Royal Highness Da Samuel Jok expressed delight over the occasion which he described as historic. He appreciated the Citizens for their commitment towards a better and greater Berom Nation.
Deputy Governor of Plateau State Ngo Josephine Piyo who spoke through a Representative, Senator Pam Mwadkon, former Senate Minority Leader Sen. Simon Mwadkwon/Chairman of the Central Planning Committee of the 2024 Nzem Berom Cultural Festival, Da Dachollom Jambol Chairman Berom Elders Forum, Da Gyang Dudu President Berom Educational and Cultural Organization (BECO),The Transition Implementation Committee Chairman Riyom Local Government Council/Chairman Nzem Berom Riyom/Aboro Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Hon. Sati Shuwa, Rt. Hon. Timothy Dantong former Deputy Speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly, Da Silas Bot, Commissioner of Higher Education Plateau State Dr. Kachollom Gang, Member Federal House of Representatives Hon. Engr. Dalyop Fom Chollom in their separate remarks lauded the initiative of celebrating Nzem Berom and urged the Citizens to be more united and always protect the interest of the Berom Nation.
They promised to always work for the collective interest of the Berom Nation.
Cultural Dance Groups across the the Local Government and Aboro thrilled the Guests with their live performances.
Special prayer for peace and bumper harvest was made by Rev. John Nash even as the Gbong Gwom Jos poured royal blessings on the People and Berom Land to prosper.
Highlights of the event were the official launching of the tree planting Campaign by the Royal Father His Majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba, Medical Outreach, paying of royal homage by all Districts to the Gbong Gwom Jos and Acha Pounding Competition.
