Governor has expressed gratitude to the people of Plateau State as his administration marks three years in office, reaffirming his commitment to rebuilding the state through peace, security, and development.
In a statement commemorating the anniversary, the governor thanked God and the citizens of the state for their trust, support, and resilience since he assumed office in 2023.
Mutfwang noted that despite facing insecurity, economic challenges, attacks on communities, and political distractions, his administration remained focused on delivering good governance and restoring hope across the state.
According to him, significant efforts have been made in strengthening security through the revitalisation of Operation Rainbow, recruitment and training of over 2,000 community volunteers, improved collaboration with security agencies, and the deployment of modern surveillance technology to enhance intelligence gathering and response.
The governor also highlighted ongoing interventions aimed at supporting displaced communities through rebuilding projects and humanitarian assistance in affected local government areas.
Speaking on education, Mutfwang said his administration reduced tuition fees by 50 percent for Plateau indigenes in state-owned tertiary institutions, increased scholarship funding, renovated classrooms, and expanded educational opportunities for students within and outside Nigeria.
He further stated that the healthcare sector had witnessed improvements through the upgrade of the Plateau Specialist Hospital, recruitment of qualified medical personnel, expansion of health insurance coverage, and enhancement of healthcare facilities across the state.
The governor added that transportation had improved through the Tin City Metro Transport Service and partnerships with airline operators, while investments in agriculture had continued through farmland recovery, subsidised fertiliser distribution, mechanised farming support, and agro-processing projects.
He also pointed to ongoing road construction, water projects, rural electrification, tourism development, urban renewal initiatives, and environmental sanitation efforts as part of the administration’s broader development agenda.
“Certainly, we have not yet reached the mountaintop, but we are no longer in the valley. Step by step, we are rebuilding Plateau together,” the governor stated.
Mutfwang expressed optimism about the future of the state, saying Plateau was rising again and would continue moving toward a more peaceful, united, and prosperous future with the continued support of its people.
