OTN might now be famous for their musical prowess, but this group was once notorious for their street activities. They are know for a darker history than their beats and lyrics, the transformation of OTN from a street menace to a respected music collective is a story of change and reinvention.

The Rise of OTN

OTN is more than just a music group; it is a movement. While the most well-known members are Pharaoh 47, Pablo the Wave, and King VI, the collective allegedly comprises over 50 members. The group only rose to national prominence after Pharaoh 47’s music began gaining significant traction. His hit drill single featuring Pablo the Wave accumulated over 800 thousand views on YouTube alone in 3 months where he famously says “Imma only say it once OTN The Best, F*** you and I said it with my chest” these lines sky rocketed the group to national popularity in the Nigerian drill scene.

Transition from the Streets

Rumors swirl around the early days of OTN, suggesting that the group was deeply embedded in the underworld of Jos. Whispers of sketchy operations, underground deals, and a network of street activities paint a picture of a shadowy empire. It is said that OTN’s operations spanned from the busy markets to the trap alleys, with a sophisticated system that kept them a step ahead of the law.

Despite these salacious tales, members of Pharaoh 47’s team have vehemently denied such claims. They argue that no concrete evidence backs these allegations and highlight Pharaoh 47’s groundbreaking deals with Republic 54, an Empire affiliate as proof of legitimate financial backing. These deals have provided the necessary resources to propel their music careers, distancing their image from the alleged street origins.

Fights and Legal Troubles

The transition hasn’t been without its bumps. Several altercations at shows involving OTN have made headlines, further fueling the group’s controversial image. These fights have often erupted into chaotic scenes at shows, drawing the attention of police. Some lesser-known members of OTN are currently in detention, facing charges related to these incidents. This ongoing friction shows the stuggles the group still faces as they try to switch their brand.

Community Impact

OTN has not only shifted their focus to music but has also made positive contributions to the community. Their recent outreach in Mangu, aimed at assisting internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by attacks, highlights their commitment to giving back and making a positive impact.

Pharaoh 47’s Musical Talent

Pharaoh 47’s musical talent is undeniable. His latest album, ”op Boy”, was listed among the top 10 hip pop albums in Nigeria by Pulse, the country’s biggest music blog. Additionally, he has received co-signs from almost every major Nigerian rapper, further solidifying his status in the industry.

While there are still heavy claims that Pharaoh 47, Pablo the Wave and King VI are just a legal front for OTN their talent nor their impact and in the Jos and Northern Music scene cannot be questioned . With Pharaoh 47 leading the charge, OTN has not only managed to shed its controversial past but also to emerge as a beacon of hope and creativity in their community.
