No fewer than 200 students across the 17 local government areas of benefited from a free JAMB registration exercise sponsored by the Hwere Foundation on February 25.
The initiative, which was carried out with the support of local government PYC chairmen, is part of the foundation’s broader commitment to expanding access to education and empowering young people across the state.
Speaking during the exercise, the founder of the HWERE Foundation, Hwere David Ayuba, described the beneficiaries not just as candidates preparing for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination, but as members of one united family.
“Through this JAMB registration, you are not just part of the exam process, but you are part of our family,” he said. “It is our responsibility that whenever we see each other as a team, we embrace one another. We work as one people, and through that unity, we can bring change.”
Ayuba emphasized that the gesture was not only to motivate the students but to instill in them a sense of responsibility toward others and the larger society.
“We are doing this to give you the consciousness that if someone can do this for you, then what can you do for the next neighbor? If we all contribute to one another’s growth and development, we will build the bigger Plateau of our dreams,” he added.
The foundation implemented the registration exercise across the northern, central, and southern zones of the state, ensuring that students from all parts of Plateau were covered. While some local governments completed their registrations earlier, the February 25 event rounded off the process for the northern zone.
In a further show of commitment to academic excellence, Ayuba announced that the highest-scoring candidate among the beneficiaries would receive full sponsorship to any institution of their choice.
“Whoever scores the highest grade among you, I will personally sponsor that person to any institution, by the grace of God,” he pledged.
He urged the students to remain focused on their studies despite prevailing challenges and to strive for excellent results.
“I understand that the environment may not be too suitable for all of us, but we must embrace unity and remain calm. Among you are potential leaders who will rescue this nation,” he said.
The HWERE Foundation reiterated that its target extends beyond the current 200 beneficiaries, noting that efforts are ongoing to expand support across the entire state and beyond, as part of its mission to promote youth development and educational advancement.
