The Jos South Local Government Legislative Council has unanimously endorsed the Leader of the House, Hon. Chomoshen Emmanuel, as its consensus candidate for the 2027 Plateau State House of Assembly election for Jos South Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The endorsement came during plenary, where lawmakers also passed a vote of confidence on Hon. Emmanuel, who represents Kushen Ward, in recognition of what they described as his exceptional leadership, legislative excellence, and commitment to quality representation.
Deputy Leader of the House and Councillor representing Bukuru Ward, Hon. Pam Joseph, said Hon. Emmanuel has distinguished himself through his inclusive leadership style, dedication to legislative duties, and ability to foster unity among members, regardless of political affiliations.
According to the lawmakers, his leadership has helped strengthen harmony within the 7th Assembly, enabling the council to function effectively as a united family while advancing development at the grassroots.
The motion endorsing Hon. Emmanuel for the 2027 Assembly seat was moved by the Majority Leader, Hon. Ishaya Chuwang of Du-B Ward, and seconded by Hon. Sarah Pam, Councillor representing Turu-B Ward.
Council members said their decision was informed by his integrity, legislative accomplishments, and the confidence that he possesses the capacity to deliver effective representation at the state level.
They also pledged to mobilize support across Jos South to ensure his victory in the 2027 election.
In his response, Hon. Emmanuel expressed gratitude to his colleagues for the overwhelming support and confidence placed in him, describing the endorsement as both humbling and inspiring.
He assured the council and the people of Jos South that, if elected, he would provide purposeful, visible, and result-driven representation that would advance the interests of the constituency.
Hon. Emmanuel also called on residents to continue supporting Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, in his efforts to deliver meaningful development and improved services across the state.
