The Assemblies of God Nigeria’s Dadin Kowa branch was filled with joy and reverence during the much-anticipated Festival of 9 Lessons & Carol in 2023. The event, hosted by Rev. Samuel Oha, opened with a warm Welcoming Address, setting the tone for a night of worship and celebration.
Rev. Oha, in his brief charge to the congregation, delivered a powerful message emphasizing the hope found in the Savior’s birth. He urged attendees to sing from their hearts with all their strength, inspired by the angels’ joy at the birth of Christ.
The worship and prayer session that followed set the stage for a series of impactful lessons delivered by various speakers. Each lesson contributed to the unfolding narrative of salvation and hope, building up to the climactic moment of celebrating the birth of Jesus.
The Lessons were beautifully presented, with Pastor Rotimi, Mrs. Mary Bwakat, Elder Dakil, Mummy Veronica Oha, Mrs. Udoh, Deacon Roberto, Mr. Charles, Deacon Sylvanus, and Pastor Fred each taking turns to share a portion of the Christmas story.
The festive atmosphere was heightened by amazing ministrations from various choirs, including the Children Choir, Assemblies of God Dadin Kowa, Daru & Co, Mai Bishara, When Women Pray Jos Choir, Hallelujah Choir, Embassy Choir, Melodies of Praise, and Embassy of Praise.
The congregation united in singing hymns from the SS&S such as “Hymn 30,” “Hymn 29,” Hymn 33,” Hymn,” and “Hymn 31,” creating a harmonious blend of voices echoing the spirit of Christmas.
The grand finale of the Carol featured a mesmerizing Candle Procession set to the timeless melody of “Silent Night.” The flickering candles symbolized the light of Christ spreading across the hearts of the congregation, concluding the evening on a note of peace and serenity.
In retrospect, the Assemblies of God Nigeria’s Festival of 9 Lessons & Carol 2023 was a memorable and spiritually enriching event. The combination of heartfelt worship, powerful messages, and soul-stirring music created an atmosphere of joy and celebration, reminding everyone of the true meaning of Christmas.
