Kingdom Kids Klub, a dynamic organization committed to championing the rights of children in communities, recently held its inaugural “Mother Me” (Uwa Na) meeting at the Odilins Event Centre in Jos, Nigeria. Spearheaded by Sandra Chikan, the Global Director of Kingdom Kids Klub and Vice President of the Association of Orphanages and Home Operators in Nigeria (ASOHON) Northern Region, this meeting aimed to raise awareness and create a strong network of support for vulnerable children.
During the meeting, Sandra Chikan emphasized the importance of raising champions within communities who would stand up for the rights of children in need. By encouraging community members to support and care for orphans and providing foster parenting, the Kingdom Kids Klub aims to create a nurturing environment where these children can thrive and fulfill their potential. Pastor Toyin Wiggins, Co-Founder, and Team Lead of Wiggins Walking in the Mission, passionately spoke about the need for compassionate individuals to recognize and support the initiatives of Kingdom Kids Klub. The organization’s endeavors to provide education, healthcare, and other necessary attention to orphans require the collective support of the community to succeed.
She stressed the urgency of supporting homeless children, as neglecting their care would contribute to significant social challenges in the future. Simi’s appreciation underscored the importance of spreading awareness and garnering support for Kingdom Kids Klub’s crucial mission.
Dr. Jophia Nanker Gupar, the visionary Founder/President of the Pan African Young Women Development Initiative (PAYWODI), delivered a compelling presentation expertly represented by Yanat John, from the National Council for Women Societies Plateau State Chapter.
Dr. Gupar’s speech revolved around the indispensable role of women in community development and its profound impact on caring for orphans. She eloquently emphasized that when women actively participate in community initiatives, it creates a nurturing environment where the welfare of vulnerable children is prioritized. Women bring unique qualities, such as compassion, empathy, and resilience, which are crucial in providing love and support to orphaned children.
Simi Simji Gushwer, Executive Director of Simji Girl Child Initiative Empowerment Orphanage, expressed her admiration for the “Mother Me” meeting, particularly in light of recent attacks in some parts of Plateau State. She stressed the urgency of supporting homeless children, as neglecting their care would contribute to significant social challenges in the future. Simi’s appreciation underscored the importance of spreading awareness and garnering support for Kingdom Kids Klub’s crucial mission.
