In the face of rising criticism following his recent gospel release Chukwu Dubem, Nature Bee has responded with humility and maturity, urging fans and critics to look beyond genre and focus on the message of the music.

Many fans were surprised by the sudden switch from hip-hop to gospel, especially after years of silence. However, the rapper has explained that the song reflects a season of his life where he found peace and divine direction, not a shift in identity.

“Music is a form of expression, and as an artist, I should be free to explore every part of my creativity,” Nature Bee said. “Chukwu Dubem came from a deep place. It’s not about trying to trend; it’s about being truthful in the message.”

Nature Bee isn’t the first rapper to venture into gospel. He joins a list that includes M.I Abaga, who once released Jehovah, and Phyno, who moved many with Father Father. These tracks proved that a moment of spiritual reflection doesn’t erase an artist’s past or talent.

The rapper acknowledges that his long absence after Change on Me and Your Face with Tekno may have left fans confused and disappointed. Still, he believes that time helped him rediscover his voice and purpose.

“I’ve been through a lot, and in those quiet seasons, I found peace in God,” he said. “That peace inspired the song. It’s something I needed to share with my fans, regardless of genre.”

Nature Bee says the silence is over and fans can expect consistency going forward. Whether gospel, rap, or something in between, he promises to deliver music that resonates and uplifts.

“If M.I, who is widely respected in hip-hop, can drop a gospel-inspired track and still be M.I, then why can’t I?” he asked. “Phyno did Father Father and no one questioned his place in the game. The truth is, inspiration leads us where it wants, and real artists follow.”
