Presidential candidate of the New Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has arrived in Jos, Plateau State, as part of a solidarity visit to Mangu Local Government Area following a recent bandit attack that left communities in distress.
Obi was received in Jos by the Plateau State NDC leadership and party chieftains led by Alfred Dapal Damiyal (ADD), alongside party members, supporters and other stakeholders.
The former Anambra State governor is expected to proceed to Mangu, where he will engage with community leaders, residents and families affected by the attack.
The visit is intended to demonstrate solidarity with the affected communities and offer support and encouragement to those who suffered losses during the incident.
Obi is also expected to assess the situation firsthand and hear directly from residents about the security challenges confronting communities in the area.
The NDC presidential candidate is expected to use the visit to stress the need for stronger security measures, protection of vulnerable communities and adequate support for victims of insecurity.
His visit to Mangu comes amid renewed concerns over the safety of residents in parts of Plateau State and calls for sustained efforts to prevent further attacks and restore confidence among affected communities.
