The Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) has officially opened applications for election observers ahead of the upcoming local government elections. Registered Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), religious bodies, and other stakeholders are invited to submit their applications for the role of election observers.
The application form is available on the Commission’s website at https://plasiec.ng/observer and can be submitted online or in person at PLASIEC’s office. The deadline for submission is within two weeks of the announcement.
Following the submission, all applications will undergo a thorough screening process. A list of successful applicants will be published in national newspapers and on the Commission’s website. Those selected will then participate in mandatory training before being accredited to observe the elections.
PLASIEC emphasized that falsified documents would lead to immediate disqualification and potential prosecution. The commission urged all interested stakeholders to take part in this important process, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring a credible and transparent electoral process.
