Supporters and constituents from various communities in have strongly demanded that the outcome of the State House of Assembly primary elections be respected, insisting that the name of Dantong must not be altered following the primaries.
During a gathering of party faithful and stakeholders, constituents passionately appealed to leaders of the to uphold the decision already made by delegates and voters at the polls.
Speaking during the appeal, supporters repeatedly insisted that “Tantong should be the candidate,” stressing that the mandate given during the primary election must remain unchanged.
The constituents described Dantong as a trusted leader who understands the needs of the people, noting that his representation and connection with the grassroots distinguished him from others.
They further urged critical stakeholders and party leaders in the state not to tamper with the outcome of the exercise, warning against any attempt to substitute or alter the candidate’s name after the primaries.
“Our leaders have already done what is right; let nobody change what has been done,” one supporter declared as chants of solidarity echoed among party members.
The calls come amid growing demands for transparency, fairness, and respect for internal democracy in the ongoing APC primary election process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
