The Plateau State Police Command announced that CP Okoro Alawari Julius has taken up the role of Commissioner of Police for the Plateau State Command.
In a statement provided by DSP Alfred Alabo, the Spokesman for the Plateau police command, it was revealed that CP Okoro Alawari Julius originates from Sagbama Local Government Area in Bayelsa State.
The statement further mentions that he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, in 1987 and obtained a Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, in 2010.
CP Okoro Alawari Julius started his journey as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in March 1990. Over the years, he has held various roles, demonstrating remarkable contributions across different States of the Federation.
Starting from his early days as an Assistant Superintendent of Police and advancing to the position of Deputy Commissioner Police, he has served in roles such as Divisional Crime Officer (DCO), Divisional Traffic Officer (DTO), Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Tactical Team Commander, Area Commander, and held positions in the Department of Finance and Administration, Operations, and Investigation, among others.
His exceptional performance and leadership capabilities led to his promotion to the rank of Commissioner of Police (CP) in March 2022. He served as the Force Provost Marshal at Force Headquarters, Abuja, before being assigned to the Benue State Command as Commissioner of Police. He has now been appointed as the 43rd Commissioner of Police for the Plateau State Command.
Assuming his new role on August 11, 2023, CP Okoro Alawari Julius affirmed his commitment to enhancing the safety and security of Plateau State residents. He pledged to continue the command’s efforts in safeguarding lives and property, maintaining law and order, and ensuring a secure environment for all citizens of Plateau State.
