Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) Plateau State Chapter held a meeting with both the former and newly appointed executives, lunch and award presentation at the Old Government House Auditorium, Rayfield, 22nd July, 2023

In his welcoming address, PMAN Governor, Amb. Comr. Humphrey Iroegbu (Color), expressed his gratitude to all attendees and introduced the Executives, Past Leaders, Stakeholders, and well-wishers present at the gathering.

Amb. Comr. Humphrey encouraged the executives to be sworn-in, charged them to demonstrate dedication and maintain a positive mindset in their efforts to propel the union to greater heights.

He also took a moment to appreciate the past Leaders who have made a positive impact on the union, including those who have passed away, such as Comr. El Sadik Yola and others.

Comr Humphrey also commiserates with the families of the victims of the recent attacks in some villages of Mangu, Riyom, Bokkos, Barkin Ladi, and many others

“PMAN Plateau State Chapter is planning on holding a peace walk among entertainers to show its concern”.

The ceremony continued with the swearing-in (Oath of Allegiance) of new executives to fill vacant positions, presided over by J.S Iliya ESQ.

Comr. Peter Iorakpu, PMAN Plateau State Head of Projects, presented an overview of the union’s ongoing projects and provided insight into PMAN’s biometric registration process, highlighting its benefits and how individuals can register.

The event also featured the presentation of awards to individuals who have made significant contributions, past leaders of PMAN Plateau State Chapter, esteemed business outfits, and representatives from the Plateau State Government.

Comr. Deshe Christopher Hannaniah (Christye Deshe), PMAN State Secretary, shared notable achievements of PMAN Plateau State Chapter under the leadership of Amb. Comr. Humphrey Iroegbu (Color). These accomplishments included fostering unity within the industry, establishing a better relationship with the government, reorienting and sensitizing media houses and social media platforms, renovating the PMAN Secretariat, and actively participating in the Biometric Registration introduced by PMAN National, which resulted in registering about 235 new members free of charge.

Representing the awardees, Comr. Sak Solo lauded the current PMAN Governor and the incoming executives. She encouraged the new team to make sacrifices for the union’s success, pursue further knowledge, maintain ethical practices, and support one another.

Tunde, a banker with First Bank, addressed the challenges faced by entertainers, particularly musicians, and emphasized the importance of utilizing social media to attract investors. He encouraged collaboration with the government to host events that promote the state and attract investors. Tunde also suggested innovative marketing, sales strategies, advertising, and online courses to enhance success in the music industry.

Mr. Yakubu Azi Bulus, from Plateau State Ministry of Tourism, represented the State Government and expressed his admiration for the union’s efforts on the plateau. He encouraged the executives to collaborate with the government and propose ideas that would mutually benefit both the Government and the union.

The virtual presence of PMAN President, Comr. Pretty Okafor, brought words of happiness, appreciation, and encouragement to the executives, urging them to maintain their passion and unity while continuously generating ideas to advance the union.

Also the virtual presence of one the former leaders who now base in the US, Comr Larry Zuka also encourage the excos and was happy to be recognized after a long time

The event witnessed the presence of numerous impact makers, stakeholders in the entertainment industry, and representatives from media houses, including PRTV, Jay FM, and many others.
