For most of you who are aware of PMAN Odyssey in plateau state; some of you will agree with me that the journey of PMAN Plateau state chapter has been a journey of immense trial’s in the advancement and protection of musicians rights and the value chain that comes with its packages.
The vision to put in place structures that will put generally “smiles ” on the faces of musicians has had its own nightmares of some sort.
“Rome was not built in a day” so also is PMAN Plateau State chapter too.
If you don’t know the story behind the growth of PMAN Plateau State chapter, you sure will Bink a red eye towards what you don’t know as true so don’t spit what you don’t know but rather investigate and know the history of facts before you pull the pin on the grenade.
PMAN, like any other Union; has done its best and its still on going making means to see that all hands commune together to oversee that the ” musicians” benefits from what obviously is his profession of work force and grace
The journey to maintain adequately the full package and of course the benefits that tingle the light at the end of the tunnel without a doubt; has met its bashing, cursing, insults, dissatisfactions as in how a real Union should be managed or staged. Don’t you know that a drop of water makes a mightier ocean?
PMAN has met so much loud criticisms and scrutiny from some empirical characters in view of what they think should be done rightly as it concerns the growth of the artist; ofcourse everybody wants to be in the good book of governance and the benefits that comes with it. So come around, join the union and let’s know more of your suggestion instead of pulling the Union after all intention to unite everyone.
Right from when I won the first PMAN Talent Hunt in 1996 at Plateau Hotel Rock-Garden to this date, there hasn’t been a second edition of it, as one who is the Head of the Board of Trustees of PMAN Plateau State Chapter, I mean it well with the Governor Comrade Humphrey Bobby Color to make it a duty to see that the second edition of the PMAN Talent hunt will be held in Jos and you could be the next to win the second Edition, trust me, there are other programs that have been aligned by the Chairman of the Union and it is super inviting if you will only “Calm Down”.
Why am I writing this article you may ask, it is because of the fact that most of those who are bashing and criticising Pman Plateau State Chapter don’t see the hard work behind the scene in trying to get PMAN work for the common good of musician in the state and of course what our President Pretty Okafor is also doing at the national level.
There are benefits obviously so good, please don’t ignore if you are truly a musician or an artist of other capacities.
It takes a lot of determination and hard work to see that “You” the musician don’t suffer what we suffered in the past and not benefit what truly is your right? Don’t be ignorant of the truth, if you don’t know ask questions .
It has not been easy; the Journey from greats like Steve promotions who worked With Murphy Mark Anthony the comrade who brought PMAN to Jos in the 90’s cannot be shoved aside, me winning the First PMAN Talent Hunt in 1996 in Jos too.
Panam Percy Paul to Larry Zuka and Late Sir Elsadeek Yola to the likes of Sir Chris Isibor , to veterans like Sahmicit Solomon , Stanley badger(Mr Wolf) to the likes of those presently aligning with the vision and mission statements. It is clear that the vision is on.
I believe the sky is just the beginning for entertainers in Jos and across Nigeria to enjoy the benefits therein, I mean untapped benefits for you, if you will only see the good of what the union stands for. I remain yours faithfully Comrade Sharkskin Kevin Williams a.k.a Agbon-IRIGWE. Still representing; CHEERS!
