The Mutfwang Gida-Gida Campaign Organisation has officially flagged off its 2027 political mobilisation campaign, pledging massive grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The flag-off ceremony, held on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Tamarald Event Centre, JIB Junction, Old Airport Road, Jos, attracted government appointees, political stakeholders, local government coordinators, executives of the organisation from across the 17 local government areas of Plateau State, as well as representatives of more than 10 support groups.

Speaking at the event, the Coordinator of the organisation, Apostle Ellam Tanko Chalahan, said Gida-Gida was established in 2022 to mobilise support for Governor Mutfwang and would continue to complement the APC through grassroots engagement, voter sensitisation and community mobilisation.
He dismissed suggestions that the organisation was operating as a parallel political structure, explaining that its primary responsibility was to strengthen the party by taking its message, policies and achievements directly to communities across the state.
Chalahan said Gida-Gida would work in collaboration with the APC, other support groups and the campaign council to secure the re-election of Governor Mutfwang, President Tinubu and other party candidates.
Describing the Mutfwang administration as a government that has demonstrated commitment to peace, infrastructure and human capital development, he called on members to take the campaign beyond social media by engaging voters directly.
He particularly urged members to encourage eligible residents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and actively participate in the electoral process.
The Coordinator also described Governor Mutfwang’s leadership as a blessing to Plateau State, urging supporters to sustain the momentum through unity, commitment and effective grassroots mobilisation.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Prince Miafyen, commended Governor Mutfwang for giving young people opportunities to serve in his cabinet, describing the administration as youth-friendly.
He called on youths across the state to reciprocate the gesture by mobilising support for the governor, President Tinubu and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.

Earlier, Builder Stephen, in his welcome address, appreciated guests and participants for attending the flag-off on behalf of the organisation’s leadership and planning committee.
He expressed optimism that the gathering would inspire members to return to their respective communities with renewed commitment to grassroots mobilisation and the collective goal of securing victory for the APC candidates in 2027.

Also speaking, the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor, Hon. Jiritmwa Goyit, urged members of the organisation to base their campaigns on the achievements of the Mutfwang administration, stressing the importance of communicating the government’s performance to the people.

In his remarks, Hon. Daniel Mutfwang highlighted what he described as significant achievements of the state government in education, infrastructure, housing, environmental development and sports.
He maintained that the impact of government projects should be measured by their benefits to residents rather than commissioning ceremonies, noting that communities were already experiencing improvements through completed road projects and boreholes, particularly in areas that previously lacked access to potable water.
Daniel also highlighted ongoing water infrastructure projects, including the ₦37 billion Lantang Dam project, Laminga Dam and Shendam water supply scheme, alongside other rehabilitation works.
According to him, the planned water reticulation project is expected to provide approximately 200 kilometres of pipeline across Jos and Bukuru when completed.
In her campaign charge, the North Central Women Leader of the Tinubu Support Group, Mrs Mary Adamu Osuji, identified love, commitment and genuine concern for the welfare of the people as essential qualities for successful political mobilisation.
She challenged political appointees and other stakeholders to demonstrate greater commitment to the needs of ordinary citizens at the grassroots, noting that such gestures would strengthen public confidence in government and deepen the relationship between political leaders and their communities.
Similarly, Hajiya Aishatu Muhammed Adam appreciated Governor Mutfwang for his support for women and called on women and youths to sustain their mobilisation efforts while remaining vigilant in protecting their votes during the 2027 elections.
Also speaking, Hon. Sunday Abdul urged supporters to take the achievements of President Tinubu and Governor Mutfwang to both rural and urban communities, stressing the need for direct engagement with voters.
The ceremony featured the unveiling of the organisation’s state and local government coordinators, alongside affiliated support groups, who pledged to extend the mobilisation campaign to communities across the 17 local government areas of Plateau State.
Women leaders and other coordinators also called for sustained grassroots engagement, while appealing for greater opportunities for women, youths and people with informal education in government appointments.
A documentary showcasing some of the achievements of the Mutfwang administration was presented at the event, while cultural displays and traditional performances added colour to the ceremony, reflecting Plateau State’s rich cultural heritage.
The organisation reaffirmed its determination to build on its previous mobilisation efforts by strengthening community engagement, promoting the administration’s achievements and taking its campaign message to every part of Plateau State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Editorial note: Before publication, it would be advisable to independently verify the ₦37 billion Lantang Dam project figure and the proposed 200-kilometre water reticulation network. This will strengthen the report’s factual accuracy and credibility.
