Voting for PMYA @12 — THE STANDARD is officially open, giving Plateau residents and the general public an opportunity to recognise individuals and organisations making meaningful contributions to the development of Plateau State.
The organisers of the Plateau Man of the Year Award (PMYA) have officially opened public voting for the 12th edition of the prestigious recognition programme, tagged PMYA @12 — THE STANDARD.
Following the successful receipt of nominations and unveiling of nominees across various categories, the voting process commenced on November 5, 2026, and will run until November 14, 2026.
The public voting exercise provides an opportunity for individuals to support nominees whose leadership, outstanding achievements, dedicated service and contributions have made significant impacts in their respective fields and communities across Plateau State.
Members of the public are encouraged to participate by casting their votes for nominees they believe deserve recognition for their efforts and positive contributions to society.
According to the organisers, public voting remains an important component of the PMYA recognition process. However, they clarified that the number of votes received by a nominee would not solely determine the final outcome, as popularity is not the only consideration for selecting award recipients.
The organisers further emphasised that the final selection would be guided by independent judging and final adjudication to ensure that merit and genuine impact remain central to the recognition process.
With the theme, “Leadership Beyond Politics: Building a Legacy for Future Generations,” PMYA @12 seeks to celebrate individuals and organisations whose contributions demonstrate leadership, excellence, innovation, community service and commitment to the advancement of Plateau State.
The organisers have therefore called on residents, supporters, stakeholders and well-wishers to participate actively in the voting exercise and demonstrate support for deserving nominees.
