The Kwankwasiyya Movement has instructed its members nationwide to begin registration with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as indications emerge that its leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is set to leave the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
In a statement issued on Saturday, the movement’s spokesperson, Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed, disclosed that Kwankwaso has concluded arrangements to align with a political coalition aimed at unseating President Bola Tinubu.
According to the statement, Kwankwaso is expected to formally register with the ADC on Monday, March 30, 2026, at his residence, Gidan Kwankwasiyya, located on Miller Road in Kano.
The movement subsequently directed all its members across the country to register with the ADC in their respective wards, local government areas, and states immediately after the leader’s official move. Members were also encouraged to actively participate in party activities and contribute to its growth and development at all levels.
The statement described the decision as a strategic move taken in the best interest of the movement, Kano State, and Nigeria as a whole. It added that the step reflects the group’s commitment to democratic values, good governance, and the collective aspirations of Nigerians.
Reaffirming its stance, the Kwankwasiyya Movement emphasized the need to protect democracy and uphold the will of the people, noting that it remains united and focused on building a more inclusive nation.
