COA Media has officially opened the nomination portal for the 11th Plateau Man of the Year Awards (PMYA), marking the beginning of entries for one of Northern Nigeria’s most anticipated civic recognition events. The annual ceremony is scheduled to hold on Sunday, 8th February 2026 in Jos, Plateau State.
This year’s edition is historic, aligning with Plateau State’s 50th anniversary, and themed “The Convergence of Excellence – Building Legacies, Inspiring Generations.” The Awards will spotlight individuals, brands, and institutions whose contributions have significantly shaped Plateau’s development over the decades.
Executive Director of COA Media and PMYA Team Lead, Amb. Cletus Akhimien, highlighted the significance of this edition, noting that PMYA has grown into a legacy platform that documents Plateau’s transformation through the achievements of its people.
“As we celebrate the 11th edition alongside Plateau @50, our goal is to unite excellence across all sectors and honour those who embody the true Plateau spirit of resilience, service, and progress,” he said.
A key highlight of the ceremony remains the Star Category — The Plateau Man of the Year Award, reserved for an individual whose leadership and impact have significantly advanced the Plateau vision. Past recipients include:

COA Media invites the public to submit nominations across various categories, including leadership, governance, humanitarian service, youth development, enterprise, education, media, agriculture, technology, and culture.
The organisation also called for partnerships and sponsorships to support this landmark edition, which commemorates both a decade of PMYA excellence and Plateau State at 50.
