Nomination Portal Now Open as COA Media Announces 11th Plateau Man of the Year Awards in Celebration of Plateau @50

Jos, Nigeria — November 19, 2025

COA Media has officially opened the nomination portal for the 11th Plateau Man of the Year Awards (PMYA), marking the beginning of entries for one of Northern Nigeria’s most anticipated civic recognition events. The annual ceremony is scheduled to hold on Sunday, 8th February 2026 in Jos, Plateau State.

This year’s edition is historic, aligning with Plateau State’s 50th anniversary, and themed “The Convergence of Excellence – Building Legacies, Inspiring Generations.” The Awards will spotlight individuals, brands, and institutions whose contributions have significantly shaped Plateau’s development over the decades.

Executive Director of COA Media and PMYA Team Lead, Amb. Cletus Akhimien, highlighted the significance of this edition, noting that PMYA has grown into a legacy platform that documents Plateau’s transformation through the achievements of its people.

“As we celebrate the 11th edition alongside Plateau @50, our goal is to unite excellence across all sectors and honour those who embody the true Plateau spirit of resilience, service, and progress,” he said.

A key highlight of the ceremony remains the Star Category — The Plateau Man of the Year Award, reserved for an individual whose leadership and impact have significantly advanced the Plateau vision. Past recipients include:

PLASIEC Chairman Honored as Public Servant of the Year at Plateau Man of the Year Awards

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to public service and governance, Hon. Plangji Daniel Cishak, Chairman of the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC), was awarded Public Servant of the Year at the prestigious Plateau Man of the Year Awards 2024. The event, which marked its 10th anniversary, was held on February 16, 2025, at Crispan Hotel and Suites, Jos, celebrating 50 remarkable individuals and brands shaping the future of Plateau State.

The ceremony was graced by high-profile dignitaries, including the representative of the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, who was honored as Plateau Man of the Year for his exceptional leadership and contributions to the state’s development.

Hon. Cishak’s leadership at PLASIEC has been instrumental in strengthening democracy in Plateau State. Under his stewardship, the 2024 local government elections were conducted peacefully, transparently, and efficiently, earning him widespread respect across political and civil society groups.
