The Plateau State Government has announced a further relaxation of the curfew imposed on Jos North Local Government Area following a noticeable improvement in the security situation after recent attacks in Angwan Rukuba.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Rt. Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap, the adjustment takes effect from Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Under the new directive, residents will be allowed to move freely from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, while the curfew will now be enforced from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
The government said the decision was reached in consultation with security agencies after assessing the relative peace restored in the area.
Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has also directed all security agencies to strictly enforce the curfew during the restricted hours to safeguard lives and property and sustain the return of normalcy.
Residents of Jos North are urged to comply fully with the directive by remaining indoors during curfew hours, cooperating with security operatives, and providing relevant information that could assist in maintaining peace and order.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring lasting security across the state.
