In a recent visit to the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC), a delegation from the Plateau State Charismatic Bishop and Apostles College, led by Bishop Dr. David Boyi Gyang, expressed their unwavering confidence in the leadership of Hon. Plangji Daniel Cishak, the PLASIEC Chairman.
During the visit, Bishop Gyang emphasized that the College fully supports Hon. Cishak’s leadership, citing his extensive experience and track record in similar roles at the federal level. “We believe that the governor made no mistake in appointing you to chair this body,” Bishop Gyang stated. He further assured that the College’s presence was not only to declare their support but also to partner in ensuring a peaceful, credible, and transparent election process.

Bishop Gyang highlighted the importance of divine guidance in governance, stressing the need for prayers and spiritual support for the electoral process. He underscored that the involvement of religious organizations is crucial in maintaining peace and credibility during elections. “We are here to pray for God’s wisdom upon you and your team to ensure a peaceful and credible election,” he said.

Responding to the delegation, Hon. Cishak expressed his gratitude for their support, acknowledging the critical role of spiritual leadership in achieving credible elections. He reaffirmed PLASIEC’s commitment to delivering a transparent electoral process, stating that they are working diligently to change the narrative of local government elections in Plateau State. “We have taken a commitment between God and Plateau people to ensure justice and transparency in this election,” Hon. Cishak declared.

Archbishop Gadzama Solomon David, the Chancellor of the College, also addressed the gathering, offering the College’s support in voter education, election monitoring, and observer training. He commended the PLASIEC team for their preparations ahead of the October 9th, 2024, local government elections, emphasizing that their involvement would help ensure a smooth and credible electoral process.

Additionally, Bishop Dr. Dung Judah Pam Gyang, President of the Plateau State Charismatic Bishop and Apostles College, reiterated the importance of the clergy’s involvement in the electoral process. He noted that the College’s partnership with PLASIEC would reduce election-related crises and enhance public trust in the electoral system. “Rest assured, we will stand with you and participate actively to ensure peace and credibility in the elections,” Bishop Judah affirmed.
The meeting concluded with a powerful prayer session led by the bishops, invoking divine wisdom and guidance for Hon. Cishak and his team as they prepare for the upcoming elections.
