The Airport Police Command has arraigned a 47-year-old man, Mark Agbor, over alleged impersonation and unauthorised access to restricted areas at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, following a social media post in which he purportedly advertised a military combat helicopter for sale.
Agbor allegedly uploaded a video online claiming ownership of two military combat helicopters and expressing his intention to sell one of the aircraft to interested buyers.
The case has been adjourned until November 18, 2026.
The spokesperson for the Airport Police Command, Adeola Mohammed, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, explaining that Agbor, an employee of Pathfinders International Limited, was transferred to the command’s International Division by the Provost Investigation Unit of the Nigerian Air Force in Ikeja for further investigation and necessary action.
According to the police, preliminary findings indicated that the suspect uploaded the video on October 7, 2026, claiming to own the two military helicopters and offering one for sale.
The command said investigations were subsequently concluded, leading to his arraignment before a court of competent jurisdiction.
The Commissioner of Police for the Airport Police Command, Olufunke Ogunbode, described the alleged conduct as a serious security concern, warning that such actions could undermine the operations of security agencies and pose risks to airport safety.
Ogunbode assured the public that the matter would be handled in accordance with the law. She also commended the Nigerian Air Force for its cooperation with the command during the investigation.
She noted that the incident underscored the importance of collaboration among security agencies in identifying and addressing potential threats to airport operations.
The police commissioner further urged companies and other stakeholders operating within the airport environment to strengthen employee screening, vetting procedures and background checks to prevent potential security breaches.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, inter-agency cooperation and the protection of lives and critical national infrastructure.
It also called on members of the public to remain vigilant and support efforts to maintain a safe and secure airport environment.
