The (NPF) has removed ACP Benjamin Hundeyin from his position as Force Public Relations Officer, just six months after he assumed the role.
Sources within the police hierarchy confirmed that the approval for his removal took effect on Thursday, March 5, 2025, although the exact reasons behind the decision have not been officially disclosed.
The development comes amid a series of internal changes within the Force, less than 24 hours after was inaugurated as the substantive Inspector-General of Police by .
Disu was appointed last week as the 23rd Inspector-General of Police following the removal of , who had led the Force since 2023.
A senior police source confirmed the development, stating that Hundeyin was relieved of his duties earlier in the day. The source added that no replacement has been officially announced.
“We thought he would remain longer considering his professional experience, but when a new Inspector-General is appointed, it is common for some strategic positions to be reshuffled,” the source said.
Hundeyin, an Assistant Commissioner of Police from Badagry, Lagos State, was appointed Force Public Relations Officer by former IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
