After weeks of complaints from motorists and residents over potholes and bad roads within Jos and Bukuru Metropolis, the Plateau State Government has commenced massive road repairs and maintenance across key routes.
Radio AMEBO followed the maintenance crew firsthand today, Wednesday 9th September 2026, from Bukuru through Miango Junction into Jos, and the evidence on ground is clear: work has begun, and the quality is commendable.
The inspection tour was at the invitation of the General Manager, Plateau State Road Maintenance Agency – PSRMA, Engr. Davou Luka, who personally led the team to show the extent of work being done.
Speaking on site, Engr. Davou Luka said the exercise tagged “Operation zero potholes“, is in direct fulfillment of the desire of His Excellency, Governor Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang to ensure that road users and commuters get the best.
“His Excellency is determined that citizens must enjoy the dividends of democracy. He gave us a clear directive: go out, fix the potholes, make the roads motorable, and do it with quality. That is why you are seeing our men and machines on ground today,” Engr. Davou stated.
The General Manager further disclosed that the maintenance work will be scaled up in the coming days, with Farin Gada area and other areas of Jos, scheduled to be reached in just a couple of days.
During the tour, Radio AMEBO observed PSRMA personnel filling potholes and patching failed sections along Bukuru Express, Miango Junction, and major links into Jos. New materials were being used and supervisors were on ground to ensure standards.
Residents and drivers who spoke during the exercise expressed appreciation, noting that the intervention will reduce vehicle damage and ease traffic within the metropolis.
This development comes as part of the Mutfwang administration’s commitment to urban renewal and infrastructure maintenance across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
