The Nigerian Army has confirmed that its troops under Operation Wutan Daji have neutralised at least 10 terrorists during coordinated offensives in Wase and Kanam Local Government Areas of Plateau State.
According to an operational report released on Thursday, the military targeted known terrorist routes around Daba and Seri villages as part of the operation.
The report stated that troops strategically mounted blocking positions between Dutsen Zaki and the Odare Forest, where they encountered terrorists moving on motorcycles along the axis.
During the ensuing firefight, several of the terrorists were killed, while others reportedly escaped with suspected gunshot wounds.
Further exploitation of the area led to the recovery of the bodies of 10 neutralised terrorists, alongside various combat items.
Items recovered include two motorcycles, 25-litre jerrycans of Premium Motor Spirit, one AK-47 rifle, and a magazine loaded with 7.62mm special ammunition.
The Army noted that the operation is ongoing, with troops maintaining strong morale and continuing offensive actions in the area.
It reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist elements and restoring peace in affected communities.
