The Young Medical Laboratory Science Forum (YMLSF) proudly celebrates one of its esteemed ambassadors, Ambassador Odinaka Kingsley Obeta, on his recent appointment as a Co-Chair of the RBM Partnership to End Malaria Youth Workstream. The announcement took place on the sidelines of the 6th Southern Africa Youth Forum in Harare, Zimbabwe, marking a significant milestone in the global fight against malaria.
The Youth Workstream, an initiative of the RBM Partnership to End Malaria, was launched to coordinate and amplify the global youth response to malaria. The initiative aims to empower young people with the tools, resources, and platforms necessary to make a meaningful impact in the fight to end malaria. The official launch was led by Dr. Michael Charles, CEO of the RBM Partnership, and officiated by Ms. Prudence Ngwenya, Director of the Women, Gender, and Youth Directorate at the African Union Commission.
Ambassador Obeta, who is also the Executive Director of the Block Malaria Africa Initiative and the West Africa Lead of the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA) Youth Advisory Council, has been a prominent figure in the medical laboratory science profession. His appointment as Co-Chair is a testament to his dedication and leadership in the fight against malaria across the African continent.
