For the first time in Nigeria a king drops crown, refuses to crown the next king, he said and i quote “Pageantry in Nigeria must be free and fair, my integrity is at stake”
These are some of the points we gathered from our conversation with Yusuf Garba former Jos Carnival King and others present at the event
More attention was given to winner from the beginning of the event to the end, his performance was good but not more than others to be crown King
One of the Organizers of the pageantry is a sister to the said winner
She had several conversation with the Judges and Mc when the pageantry was going on
Not just that, the parents of the said winner were introduced by the MC to the public immediately the stepped into the event hall.
From what we gathered, they bought 3 tables
one of the Contestant from the Queen’s category told us that the said winner sold the highest number of ticket, that was one of the major point he got to become the winner
Two contestants left stage before the end of the pageantry
The Former King Mr Yusuf Garba was given a well branded new crown from Miss Gold to crown the said winner
One thing i don’t understand is the point that he/she who sold the highest number of tickets are of more advantage over those who sell less, this has become a norm in pageantry this days
Please i need more clarification on that.
We are not condemning the pageantry, this is just our view from all we gathered
Let’s know your view….
