United States President, Donald Trump, has been cleared in his impeachment trial, ending a congressional bid to oust him from office.
The Senate, run by the President’s fellow Republicans, voted to acquit him 52-48 on charges of abuse of power and 53-47 on obstruction of Congress, the BBC reports.
Democrats charged Mr. Trump in December with pressuring Ukraine to smear a potential White House rival.
In November, Mr. Trump will be the first impeached US president to go for election.
In its historic vote on Wednesday, the Senate decided not to remove America’s 45th president from office on charges arising from his dealings with Ukraine.
If convicted on either charge, Mr. Trump would have had to turn over his office to Vice-President Mike Pence.
The Democratic-led House of Representatives approved the articles of impeachment on December 18.
Trump, who is seeking a second four-year term in the November 3 election, has always denied wrongdoing.
It is no news that the demand and consumption of Afrobeat music around the world are on the rise every day. And as music producers yearn to lay their hands on the unique sound, ace Nigerian music producer and Disc Jockey, Osabuohien Osaretin, popularly known as Sarz releases his Afrobeat sound pack for sampling by both upcoming and top music producers home and abroad.
Sarz worked with cloud-based music creation and collaboration platform, Splice, to create the sound pack.
Sarz has produced ingenious sounds for some of the biggest artists in Nigeria, Africa, and the world at large, which turned out to be the rave of the moment. After taking his time climbing up the ranks, the multi-talented producer is concerned with continuity and leaving a lasting imprint in more ways than one.
Speaking on the idea behind releasing the sound pack, the 30-year-old admits:
“Afrobeats consumption is on an all-time high. So there are more creatives around the world that want to get their hands on the genre. My sound pack is a great source of inspiration for Afrobeat producers and any genre in general.”
He continued:
“I’m so eager to hear what people come up with. This is content that creatives need. I don’t think it will be under-utilized because there will be someone out there that will create a hit off it.”

An Army General identified to be General Abdulmalik Biu says that an Ex-Boko Haram bombist who turns from his negativity is qualified to be the President of Nigeria. Former minister of culture and aviation, Mr Femi Fani Kayode(FFK) reacted furiously to this statement, alleging that Nigeria is in danger for an Army General to make such a statement on Channel TV, a national television.
This FFK’S tweet:
I am constrained to ask, are these people really human beings? If so, do they have any sense at all? As a matter of fact do they have a brain? A senior commander in Nigeria’s army says a Boko Haram fighter can be President of Nigeria on national television? Is he for real?
…Does this clown understand the implications of what he has just said? Is it any wonder that Nigeria has just been placed on the United States of America’s ‘travel ban’ list? Frankly this is the limit! There is no fellowship between light and darkness!
..It is time for us to get out of this godless & unholy union! I do not wish to be part of a country where terrorists & violent jihadists like BH & Fulani militants are given pride of place, are regarded as being untouchable, are above the law & are treated like heroes & gods.
Remember that recently Boko Haram bombists are being welcomed to join the Nigerian Army if they surrender their arms. This leaves us to wonder if this is not a ploy to completely infiltrate the Nigerian military.
Nigerians many claim that this is also a strategy to completely Islamize Nigeria.
Nigerians please let us speak up. What do you think?
