The iconic artiste was laid to rest on the family’s land in Dong, just after Wildlife Park. This heartfelt tribute marks the end of an era, celebrating an artiste who left an indelible mark on the Nigerian music scene.

Before his untimely passing on the 24th of September, 2023, Mr. M had faced immense adversity. In 2019, he survived a ghastly motor accident that left him battling with health challenges. For the subsequent four years, he valiantly fought his battle while confined to a wheelchair. His resilience and unwavering spirit inspired all who knew him.

Mohbad: Naira Marley Pledges to Clear His Name, Eager to Aid Police Inquiry

In the wake of the passing of Nigerian musician Ilerioulwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, Azeez Fashola, the owner of Marlian Music records, and also known as Naira Marley, has affirmed his determination to vindicate himself and demonstrate his innocence in connection with Mohbad’s demise.

Naira Marley conveyed this message through a statement shared on his Instagram account on Tuesday. He additionally expressed his willingness to cooperate with the police inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the tragic passing of his former signee, Mohbad.

Expressing his readiness to collaborate with the relevant authorities in the investigative process, Naira Marley stated, “In light of the police’s invitation, I am in the process of returning to the country to facilitate the investigation and present my account of the events. I am fully cooperating with the police team, and I have no reason to evade justice when I played no role in his demise.”

“In due course, the truth about Mohbad’s death will be unveiled, and the world will come to understand the reality of the situation. Such attempts to frame someone are not unprecedented in the industry, as other esteemed musicians have faced similar challenges and emerged even stronger. My situation will be no different because I am innocent of the allegations,” the statement read in part.

Naira Marley elaborated further, explaining that since Mohbad’s departure from the record label in September 2022, and the label’s acceptance of his exit, “Marlian Music has not hindered his career or music releases, as he has been associated with oneRPM. Legal steps were taken to address his concerns regarding our past collaborations.”

Mohbad was laid to rest on September 13. However, in light of an investigation by the Lagos State Police Command to uncover the circumstances of his passing, his remains were exhumed for a post-mortem examination.

Plateau State Government Set to Distribute 200 Trucks of Fertilizer as Palliatives to Citizens

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, said that the state government has secured more than 200 trucks of fertilizer for distribution to its citizens as part of palliative measures.

Governor Mutfwang stated this during an inspection of the fertilizer at the 551 Nigeria Air Force Station in Jos, Plateau State, on Monday.

He emphasized that the primary aim of providing the fertilizer is to support and subsidize agriculture, with the overarching goal of ensuring food security within the state and across Nigeria.

Governor Mutfwang assured that a well-structured distribution plan is in the works to guarantee that the fertilizer reaches the intended beneficiaries for agricultural purposes.

“We are pleased to report that we have ordered an excess of 200 trucks of fertilizer, and they are currently being offloaded. Once we finalize the logistics for distribution, we will promptly initiate the distribution process across all the 17 local government areas.”

The Governor also stressed the importance of ensuring that the fertilizer is used for actual farming and not resold. He emphasized the government’s commitment to boosting food production on the Plateau and supporting agriculture for the benefit of the people.

He reiterated his administration’s dedication to enhancing the profitability of agriculture in the state for its citizens.

Hon. Sunday Abdu, the Executive Secretary of Plateau State Emergency Management Agency (PLASEMA), said that more than 170 trucks of fertilizer have been uploaded, with an additional 40 trucks waiting to be processed.

The Governor was accompanied on the inspection visit by the Commandant of the 551 Nigerian Airforce Station Jos.

Fire guts Supreme Court building in Abuja

On Monday morning, a portion of the Supreme Court experienced a fire incident, fortunately resulting in no casualties.

Festus Akande, a spokesperson for the Court, revealed that the fire’s origin was traced to electrical issues within one of the Justice Chambers. The incident, which began around 6 a.m., was successfully extinguished using fire extinguishers.

It was discovered that the alert about the fire was raised by the cleaning staff and some early-bird workers who detected it. These individuals promptly employed the building’s fire extinguishers to combat the flames.

The fire affected the office of Justice Mohammed Saulawa as well as two other offices within the Court.

NNPC denies recruiting workers

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has refuted false job advertisements that have been spreading online in recent weeks.

In a statement released by its management on Monday, NNPC clarified that the company is currently not in the process of hiring new personnel.
