INEC Mobilize Massive Turnout as Mega Voter Registration Holds at Secretariat Junction

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced its Mega Continuous Voter Registration exercise at Secretariat Junction (Under Bridge), aimed at increasing citizens’ participation in the electoral process.

The exercise, running from March 25 to March 30, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily, provides eligible Nigerians the opportunity to register, transfer voter details, and replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). The initiative has already begun attracting a steady turnout of residents eager to secure their voting rights.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Plateau State, Mallam Mohammed Abubakar Sadiq, urged residents to maximize the opportunity, noting that the expansion to multiple centers was designed to ease access and accommodate more participants. He expressed satisfaction with the first day’s turnout and called for increased participation in the coming days.

In support of the exercise, the Nigeria Alive Conscience Movement, led by James Lokrit, is partnering with INEC to drive sensitization efforts across communities. While describing the initial turnout as modest, he said ongoing mobilization could significantly boost participation, with expectations of capturing millions of new voters nationwide.

Similarly, the National Orientation Agency, through its Plateau State Coordinator, Kaneng Tabitha Pam-Hworo, emphasized the importance of awareness and community engagement. She noted that sensitization campaigns are ongoing to encourage more residents, particularly first-time voters and those needing PVC updates, to participate.

Some participants have commended the process for its efficiency. A first-time voter, Solomon Patrick, described the registration as fast and well-coordinated, urging other eligible citizens to take advantage of the exercise.

The ongoing initiative is expected to significantly strengthen voter inclusion and participation ahead of future elections.

My Kudi: Jos Business Tycoon Makes Billions in Profit, Shares Gains with Investors, Announces Restructuring Plan

A Jos-based business leader, Okposio Samuel Williams, has revealed that his investment platform, My Kudi, generated significant returns and paid out substantial profits to investors before encountering financial setbacks that have now led to a major restructuring.

In an official statement, the Managing Director of Simplicity Concept Groups Nigeria Limited said that since its launch in 2021, My Kudi attracted hundreds of investors and delivered strong returns over the years, reflecting what he described as a period of sustained profitability.

However, the firm’s fortunes changed after it increased investor returns following a highly successful year. Williams admitted that the decision, though well-intentioned, did not align with changing market realities, leading to a gap between obligations and actual profits.

“As we tried to sustain higher payouts, the business began running at a significant loss,” he said, noting that efforts to stabilize operations—including plans to establish a Microfinance Bank—were stalled by the indefinite suspension of new licenses by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

With mounting financial pressure, the company has now halted interest payments and is moving to liquidate assets to repay investors. Williams assured stakeholders that an asset-backed recovery plan is already underway, with properties and other assets expected to be listed publicly for sale.

He added that reconciliation of investor records has commenced, with company representatives contacting each investor to verify capital contributions and outstanding balances ahead of scheduled repayments.

Legal authorities and advisors have also been engaged to ensure transparency and compliance throughout the process.

Despite the challenges, Williams emphasized that the move marks a restructuring phase rather than the end of the business.

“We remain committed to ensuring that every investor recovers their capital. This is a difficult moment, but we will honor our obligations,” he stated.

The development has drawn attention within Nigeria’s investment space, highlighting both the risks and returns associated with high-yield financial platforms.
