Reply: I go by the name BILLI MARZ, and I hail from Niger state. I’m a 21 year old song writer / producer based in Lagos.
4WARDWEGO: What first got you into music?
BILLI MARZ: I happened to be around a tragic and depressing environment. So music was like a companion because that was the only thing keeping me away from lots of trouble .
4WARDWEGO: How many songs have you recorded so far, and how can we get them?
BILLI MARZ: Truth is , I have multiple records. But my team and I released an EP recently containing 6 songs. And they are available on : SPOTIFY, APPLE MUSIC , ITUNES , AUDIOMACK, YOUTUBE , GOOGLE and other streaming platforms.
4WARDWEGO: Have your song ever been aired on the radio?
BILLI MARZ: My songs have been aired couple of times. And one of my songs titled “ENERGY” made it to the top chat “song of the week” on RHYTHM FM.
4WARDWEGO: Who or what inspired you to make music?
BILLI MARZ: I was inspired by couple of artists who came from similar backgrounds as mine. But I came from nothing, so obviously I got inspired to change the whole situation happening around me as of then .
4WARDWEGO: Tell us about your creative process?
BILLI MARZ: My creative process comes through connections. These are my relationship with people or my state of being at a particular point in time. When writing a song, I literally go through various experiences I had stored up in my head, then all I have to do is talk about that situation in a way people could relate. And I prefer having these processes during the mornings. Early hours to be precise.
4WARDWEGO: Are you a student?
BILLI MARZ: Yes I am a student of University of Jos.
4WARDWEGO: How do you cope doing music and school at the same time? What are the challenges?
BILLI MARZ: The challenges of been an artist and a student the same time falls under timing. I will say it’s difficult handling both duties, and I cannot lie to myself. I try my best to attend to the necessary activities when I’m supposed to, academically and on my field of entertainment.

BILLI MARZ: Sure. I was always having an adrenaline rush when it gets to anything that has to deal with stage performance. I thought maybe it was because of the quality time I spent indoors to create music, so that got to me. But I dealt with the whole anxiety issues by hanging out more .
4WARDWEGO: Tell me about your favourite performance
BILLI MARZ: My Favorite performance for me will be every moment that I make my fans happy . And that should be every moment when I’m on stage .

It’s a place of war for me, coz you have to fight through so many obstacles just to prove to people that you’re the perfect brand. But all these challenges are definitely going to pay off someday, we all hope.

Governor Simon Bako Lalong has institutionalised ICT local content in Plateau state with approval for the establishment of the Office for Plateau State Content Development (OPCD) to be domiciled within the Plateau State Information & Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA).
The OPCD will, for now, operate as a desk office inside the state’s IT development and regulatory agency. The new office will operate as a programme of the PICTDA. Part of the mandate of the OPCD is to implement the statutory guidelines requiring all government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to seek clearance from the PICTDA in respect of all ICT procurements and installations.
“Governor Lalong has continued to provide visionary leadership and notably in ICT, Plateau state is being prepared to be an active player in the digital economy with up-front policies aimed at building local capacity and patronage for indigenous talents, said Director General of PICTDA, Daser David in Jos, Plateau administrative capital.
National ICT local content implementation since 2013
At national level, ICT local content implementation effectively commenced in December, 3 2013 following the creation of the Office of National Content (ONC) designed to operate as a programme of the National Information Technology and Development Agency (NITDA).
Inspired by the successes of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) within the oil and gas industry, ONC was modelled to work closely with the NCDMB with the overall objective to promote indigenous ICT entrepreneurship and ensure government patronage for local ICT companies.
OPCD to show preference for indigenous companies
Also by design, the OPCD is targeting to “promote indigenous content by ensuring that preference is given to indigenous companies where capacity or the product or service exists before attempting to source outside.
“A focus on indigenous or local content to achieve the development of local skills, technology transfer, use of local manpower in manufacturing and service provision. A move towards ICT development as enshrined in the mandate of PICTDA.
“The registration of all ICT companies in Plateau and the domestication of the guidelines for Nigerian Content Development in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with a focus on revenue generation for Plateau State.”
Since 2013, the NITDA has aggressively pursued the implementation of the local content guidelines to achieve a target of 50% local content in the industry. With the creation of the OPCD, Plateau state is similarly seeking to impose local content requirements on companies operating in the sector.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has issued a mandate to all Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) to ensure that no customer is turned back or refused FX provided that documentation and all other requirements are satisfied.
This was contained in a memo signed by Haruna Mustafa, Director, Banking Supervision Department, CBN on Thursday, July 29.
According to the memo, DMBs must set up teller points at designated branches across the country to fulfil legitimate FX requests for specific purposes.
Some of the approved requests are Personal Travel Allowance, (PTA), Business Travel Allowance (BTA), tuition fees, medical payments, SMEs transactions, amongst others.
The memo partly read, “DMBs are strongly advised to ensure that no customer is turned back or refused FX provided that documentation and all other requirements are satisfied. Equally, undue delays, rationing, and/or diversion of FX is strongly discouraged whilst DMBs are required to establish electronic application and alert systems to update customers on the status of their FX requests.
“As communicated during the briefing, a toll-free line has been set up at the CBN for bank customers to escalate unresolved complaints related to their FX requests.
“The CBN will continue to closely monitor banks’ conduct and compliance with this directive in order to ensure an efficient FX market for all legitimate users.”
4wardwego blogs had reported that the CBN allegedly allocated a total of $200 million to all commercial banks in the country as part of efforts to meet the foreign exchange demand for legitimate end-users across the country, a move against forex speculation.
The action by the apex bank is coming after it announced the discontinuation of forex sales to Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in the country.

How about making your next quarterly Zoom check-up a little more interesting?
Feel like aggravating your colleagues at the virtual all-hands?
If so, why not turn yourself into a freakish living cartoon, courtesy of Snapchat’s desktop app?
We’ve written about the Snap Camera app before, as it’s fun, free, and easy to use. But Snap seems to have updated it recently with the cartoon filter from its mobile app, which is worth a look in its own right.
The filter turns you into a generic DreamWorks / Pixar creation, and is surprisingly fluid.
Its ability to capture your full range of expressions is a little limited (it can’t quite do a proper DreamWorks Face, for example) but access through the desktop app means you can now use the filter on your next Zoom call, which is both dumb and fun.

To do so, you need to first download and install the Snap Camera app from here (you’ll need to give it access to your microphone and camera, and be running Windows 10 or macOS 10.13 or later).
Then, start the app, start Zoom, and make Snap Camera your camera input. To do this on a Mac, click “Preferences” > “Video” in the top menu.
If you’re on a PC, click the gear icon in the upper-right of the app then select “Video.” Then, from the drop-down menu labeled “Camera,” select “Snap Camera” rather than your current input.
Next, go to the Snap Camera app itself and select the filter you want from the carousel underneath the camera feed. This one is called “Cartoon Style.” Click it and you should be good to go. A little tip: you can click the video or create a custom hotkey (defined under the video feed) to switch between different cartoon styles. Enjoy!
