Mum burns son’s hands over stove (Graphic Pics)
A livid Nigerian mum has taken the extreme route as she roasted her 11-year-old son’s hands for taking food without first seeking permission.
Equally important, Child abuse or child maltreatment is physical, sexual, and/or psychological maltreatment or neglect of a child or children, especially by a parent or a caregiver.
In a case of child abuse, the mother of the 11-year-old victim, Victory was assaulted by his mother in Akwa Ibom. According to the news platform, Linda Ikeji, the mum burnt her 11-year-old son’s hands by placing it directly on fire because he took food from the pot without permission.
An eyewitness, who sent in photos of the injured boy identified as Victory, stated that he lives with his father; Clement, a Keke NAPEP driver; and his biological mother; an orange seller; at number 33 Afaha Ikot Obio Nkan Street, Udo Udoma avenue in Ibesipko LGA in Akwa Ibom state.
On Friday, October 2, Victory went into their kitchen to get something to eat; after his parents allegedly left home without giving him anything to eat.
When his mother found out he went into her kitchen to get food by himself; she allegedly lit the stove. Thereafter, she placed his hands on the fire; inflicting serious injuries on him.
Older injuries on the boy’s body also show this isn’t the first time his mother will torture him.
There’s a burn scar on his stomach alongside other scars on his body.

Joseph Ampomah, the other half of the music duo explained that their management has decided to part ways with them hence the decision to end the contract.

SARS: Trump isn’t your business, face your country – Wizkid blasts Buhari
Nigerian singer, Ayo Balogun, popularly known as ‘Wizkid’ has called out President Muhammadu Buhari for responding a quickly to Donald Trump’s health issues and for remaining unconcerned about security issues in Nigeria.
DAILY POST had reported that a team of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police allegedly killed a young man on Saturday.
The incident occurred in front of Wetland Hotel, Ughelli in Delta State.
The operatives allegedly shot the citizen and left the scene in the victim’s vehicle – a white Lexus jeep.
Their actions led to a general outcry by Nigerians who are calling for an end to the brutality from SARS operatives.
He also urged the government to do something about the incessant killings of poor Nigerians by Police officials.

PPMC mulls reduction in fuel prices as crude oil prices dip in international market
According to insider reports, the Pipeline Products Marketing Company (PPMC) may effect a reduction in the prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) petrol this month.This was alluded to by the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) National Vice President, Abubakar Maigandi in an interview.Maigandi also said the marketers are looking forward to a downward review of the ex-depot price for October.Equally important, he based his forecast on the decline crude prices.
The Brent Crude that was $40 per barrel is today $39. 38.The IPMAN chairman, however, explained that marketers were expecting an announcement of the new price from the PPMC; which is likewise a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).Also Read; Okonjo-Iweala still in contention for WTO job as panel prunes candidates to final twoBut Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA); had last month said the price of petrol is not solely a factor of crude oil prices.This was contained in a statement issued by its Executive Secretary, Abdulkadir Saidu; who hinted that marketers have the approval for fixing the prices of petrol; because it has been deregulated.According to the agency, only market forces determine the prices of any deregulated product.
The Federal Government deregulated the product in March this year.Last month, the PPMC also pegged the ex-depot price at N151. 56 per litre; as well as deliberately shirked the responsibility of announcing the pump price.With the leverage, the marketers across the country have sold the PMS; for between N158 and N162 per litre.In that month of September, the Brent Crude also sold for $46 per barrel.The PPMC had on September 2, in a brief internal memo with ref: “PPMC /IB/LS/020, dates September 2, 2020; the company said “a new product price adjustment has been effected on our payment platform.“To this end, the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) is now one hundred and fifty-one naira; fifty-six kobo (N151.61) per litre.”The Head Depot Manager, D.O. Agbalaya; who signed the memo said:
“This is effective from 2nd September 2020.”The price of the Brent crude was $46 per barrel on Friday.PPPRA had on August 4 approved an ex-depot price of N138.62 per litre; for the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS ) petrol; and likewise kept the pump price to its chest.The agency reviewed it upward by N6 from its previous N132.00 per litre of July with the Federal Government; justifying the increase on the prices of crude oil in the month of August
Chief Priest stabbed to death for impregnating Muslim lady in Delta State
A Chief Priest has been stabbed for impregnating a Muslim lady in Delta State.
The Chief Priest of the Igbudu community in Warri South council area of Delta identified as Victor Alawuru, has been stabbed to death for allegedly impregnating a Muslim lady at Degbori Street in the Hausa Quarters axis of the community.
1st News gathered that the victim impregnated a ‘Hausa lady’, which did not go well with her Muslim parents, who are against the relationship based on religious differences.
Some other residents in the area claim that the Chief Priest was killed because he rejected the pregnancy.
It was gathered the deceased had gone for a festival on Degbori street when he was ambushed and stabbed by hoodlums reportedly from the Hausa enclave.
“The deceased was killed because a Hausa lady got pregnant for him. He allegedly rejected the pregnancy. The incident has brought serious tension,” a source claimed.
Another source said;
“The hoodlums who are believed to be from the Hausa community attacked and stabbed him to death on Thursday. The Igbudu community youths are angry over the death of the deceased. Thus, fighting, robbery, and a riot broke out between the Urhobo and Hausa groups.
The ever-busy Igbudu market was forcefully closed on Friday evening as traders ran away for the safety of their lives. And there are fears that the youths may avenge the death of the chief priest.
The incident is a bad one because cult groups have taken over the fight. The last person that was killed by the same group during the lockdown was the younger brother of Mr Victor. The people of the priest are angry”.
A senior police source at the Warri Area Command revealed that the parents wanted the girl to terminate the pregnancy but she refused.
“They said a Hausa girl was pregnant for him and the parents wanted her to terminate the pregnancy but she ran to the police station.
So the girl said Christian girls do get pregnant for Muslims so why can’t she? And she decided to keep the pregnancy.
They were having a festival in that area and the said chief priest was passing. They said some Hausa boys now pointed that ‘look at the man that brought disgrace (impregnating the Hausa girl) to us’ and one of them stabbed him to death,” the police source disclosed.
Asked if the chief priest had rejected the pregnancy, the Police said: “he didn’t. They said their daughter shouldn’t have been pregnant for a non-Muslim”.
