A NATION OF INJUSTICE Written by Fredrick Preye

A NATION OF INJUSTICE
Written by Fredrick Preye

Sitting on the beautiful west side of Africa
With all the tremendous tulips of wanders
Black bride of Africa and sexy curve to the world
Admired from relevant sector
of human material industries
Hoping grand father to be
But her children are driven by greed
and selfishness
They want her alive but milking her to death
Triplet at birth
Struggle to own her milk bank
Metamorphose into tweleve baskets
and six political war Lords
Strive made them thirty seven suckers
At the end of the month
they gether in her sitting room
grapple what they can for food
Even when they acknowledge
they did not contribute

Six decade they managed to lie to themselves
Manipulating one regime to another
With profound scheme in lying drums
The celebration of mediocrity and nepotism
has eaten deep into their vein

The strength of hatred is short up
in their bones and soul
Camping on a paradox bomb
which is not far from the next regime

They have started jucketing
from one point to another
Repugnancy escalate to the horizon
of a failed state

The clock ticks and about to
explode before their very visual
Yet refusing to do the needful
Those who speak for the invisable being
have been sold into the money
romance industry and now
hear and speak for a streng being
only known to them

Callousness have taking over the city’s
and the once who sworn to protect
life and property now in a shell of
alleviating banditry and criminality

Oh! What a callous nation
Seeing the truth before thee
But have chosen to look away
Because of the few black gold left
The time is calling, the time calls
Leaders of tomorrow are you seeing
Or you have drank your brain away
With shakey shakey dance steps
Enjoying the moment of silent pains
You may have end the Sars

But the range of criminality
and lawlessness fill the land
With supreme audacity reining supreme.

Presidency says man wanted for $65m fraud no longer Buhari’s in-law

The Presidency has disclosed that the man declared wanted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) is not an in-law to President Muhammadu Buhari; as being claimed in some quarters.

4wardwego reports that news made the rounds yesterday that a certain Gimba Ya’u Kumo; wanted by the ICPC, was an in-law to the President.

However, this has been debunked by the Presidency.

Malam Garba Shehu, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, confirmed this in a statement on Friday.

Specifically, the ICPC had declared Kumo wanted for an alleged 65 million dollars fraud. Kumo, a former Managing Director, Federal Mortgage Bank, got married to Buhari’s daughter in October 2016 in Daura, Katsina State.

However, the presidential aide disclosed that the (marriage) relationship had since ended some years ago.

‘‘A running story to the effect that the ICPC has declared ‘an in-law of the President’ wanted in connection with fraud involving the large sum of money, 65 million dollars to be exact. This should normally be an affirmation that our anti-corruption agencies/institutions are truly independent and allowed unfettered freedom by the President. Which in fact is the case.

‘‘That a state institution can issue such is a measure of the administration’s commitment to accountability, equality and justice.

“To set the records straight, the person declared wanted by the ICPC is not an in-law to President Buhari. While at some point in time the said fugitive from justice had been linked to a family member in marriage; that relationship has ended some years ago.

‘‘It is therefore unfortunate to bring the President’s family into this case. It is in our view an attempt to generate views and sell copies of sensational reporting. The President’s position at all times is that the law be allowed to take its course.

‘‘As is well known of him, President Muhammadu Buhari will not provide any cover for crime, no matter who is involved,” the statement read in part.

Nigerian Army stop attack on Maiduguri, eliminate 9 terrorists

The Nigerian Army says troops of Operation Hadin Kai have eliminated nine Boko Haram terrorists during an attempt to attack the outskirt of Maiduguri, the Borno capital, on Tuesday.

The Director, Nigerian Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Mohammed Yerima disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, May 12, in Abuja.

Yerima said the terrorists tried to advance from the Aldawari axis to attack soft targets in Jiddari Polo but were repelled by combined troops of the Army, Police, vigilantes, and hunters.

“Following a hot pursuit by troops, heavy casualty was inflicted on the terrorists as nine of them were neutralised while many escaped with gunshot wounds.

“One Buffalo Gun Truck, three motorcycles, three Browning machine guns, a rocket-propelled gun, and four AK-47 rifles were recovered from the terrorists.

“Other items recovered include one Improvised Explosive Device, sixteen 12V batteries among other items,” he said.

Yerima said that the Chief of Nigerian Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru commended the gallantry of the troops and urged them to keep up the tempo of the operation.

He urged members of the public to remain calm and assured them of their security during the festive period and beyond.

Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has alerted the public of the existence of a fake LinkedIn account, supposedly belonging to Abdulrasheed Bawa, Executive Chairman, EFCC.

This was contained in a statement issued by its spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren on Tuesday, May 11, who said the account which is promoted by an unknown impostor is, unfortunately, attracting unsuspecting followers desirous of networking with the Executive Chairman of the EFCC.

The Commission stated that the “account is fake and also has no relationship with the EFCC Chairman.

“Consequently, members of the public are warned to be circumspect; and desist from further interaction with the impostor whose motives are sinister,” it said.

COVID-19 LOCKDOWN: FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CLEARS AIR ON NEW RESTRICTIONS

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) who is also the chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, has clarify misrepresentation in their briefing on Monday.

Mustapha while speaking to NAN on Today, said it was erroneously reported that the federal government had re-introduced nationwide curfew between 12am and 4am, as part of the COVID-19 safety protocols.

According to him, the announcement made by the National Incident Manager, Dr. Mukhtar Mohammed, was taken out of context.

Mustapha explained that the curfew imposed earlier under Phase Three of the eased lockdown was not relaxed.

“Under the Fourth Phase of restriction of movement, night clubs, gyms and others will remain closed till further notice; while all citizens will also ensure that mass gatherings outside work settings do not exceed maximum of 50 people in an enclosed space.

“These restrictions have been in existence under the Third Phase but are being maintained under the Phase Four of the phased restriction of movement,” Mustapha said.

He added that “The PSC hereby reiterates that there is no newly introduced lockdown” and urged Nigerians not to panic.
