Another Paramount Ruler kidnapped in Plateau State

Gunmen have Kidnapped HRH. Da Gyang Balak Gut, the Da Gwom Rwei of Vwang District of Jos-south Local Government Area of Plateau State.

AIT gathered that the Paramount Ruler was kidnapped on Sunday night on his way home to Vom, few meters from the Gate of the National Institute For Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru in Jos.

Spokesman for the Plateau State Police Command ASP Gabriel Ubah Confirmed the incident

Vwang District is where the famous National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI), Vom is situated in Plateau State.

The incident is coming in less than one month after the abduction of another traditional ruler in Plateau State HRH Charles Dakat, who is the Paramount Ruler of Gindiri, in Mangu Local Government Area

Gov. Bala Mohammed has constructed 2,500 housing units to reduce housing deficit in Bauchi State

The Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala A. Mohammed in his charismatic leadership acumen has constructed 2,500 housing units across Bauchi State to reduce housing deficit in the State.

The peoples governor sited the newly constructed houses in six (6) emirates of Bauchi State as first phase of his massive housing scheme in the state.

1, 000 housing units were constructed in Bauchi Metropolis, the State capital, to address housing problem by the residents and growing influx of people from other Northeastern states bedevilled by security challenges.

In Azare town, the headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area, 350 units were constructed to bring succour to people in the second most influential LGA of the State.

Misau and Ningi LGAs have 250 and 200 units respectively for the benefit of the growing populations of the towns.

Dass and Jama’are LGAs were beautified with 100 units each to shelter low-income residents in the Local Government Areas.

Governor Bala A. Mohammed assured all and sundry that allocation of the houses would cut across political parties, civil servants, businessmen, farmers, traditional leaders etc without discrimination.

In second subsequent phase of the scheme, the peoples governor would construct thousands of housing units across other LGAs of Bauchi State to enable low-income families own houses and address housing shortage in the Bauchi State.

Kauran Bauchi, as he is popularly known, is truly transforming and revolutionizing every sector in Bauchi State to the wonders and amazement of Bauchi State residents and visitors.

Nigeria will be extremely grateful to have a replica of what you are doing in Bauchi in terms of infrastructural development and human empowerment.

NDLEA intercepts 1.5 million Tramadol tablets going to Kebbi, Kano others

The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agent(NDLEA) on Sunday in Abuja said it has intercepted 1.5 million tablets of Tramadol en route Kebbi and Kano as well as other drugs at the Lagos airport and seaport.

The agency said it also ceased cash, arms, ammunition and 137.754kg of narcotics across 7 states.

Director, Media & Advocacy NDLEA Headquarters, Abuja, Femi Babafemi in a statement on Sunday, said its operatives have also ceased one N1, 413,344 alongside some arms and ammunition from a suspected bandit and a drug kingpin in Plateau state while over 137.754kgs of assorted illicit drugs were recovered during interdiction operations across seven states in the past week.

He said its operatives in Edo State on Friday 14th January 2022, intercepted psychotropic substances concealed under legitimate goods in a trailer coming from Onitsha and going to Yauri in Kebbi State.

The drugs seized include; 394,480 capsules and 3,000 tablets of Tramadol weighing 83.707kg; Exol-5: 647,500 tablets weighing 203.315kg; Diazepam: 12,500 tablets weighing 2.05kg; Bromazepam: 1,500 tablets weighing 0.45kg; Codeine based Syrup: 999 bottles weighing 134.865kg; Pentazocine injections: 4,000 ampoules weighing 16.64kg.

“The driver of the truck, Bashir Lawali, 30, was arrested along with Abubakar Sani, 30, and Ali Abubakar, 19, while the exhibits in Kano were seized from one Sa’idu Yahya, 31.

He also, disclosed that attempts by drug traffickers to export 73 parcels of cannabis (34.05kg) concealed in foodstuff plastic containers to the United Kingdom through the NAHCO export shed of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja Lagos were frustrated by operatives on January 8, 2022, adding that, another 50 parcels of cannabis consignment (27.25kg) meant for the United States were also intercepted at the export shed of the airport on Tuesday 11th Jan while three suspects were arrested.

He added that illicit drug merchants, while trying to bring into Nigeria 94 parcels of cannabis indica (Colorado) weighing 43.4kg through the Tincan seaport in Lagos were arrested on 13th January when operatives intercepted the drug inside a 40ft container from Canada.

He said the exhibit was concealed inside a Toyota Camry car. This came on the heels of a similar seizure on 11th Jan. of 59 parcels of Colorado (17.3kg) concealed in a Mercedes Benz vehicle imported from Canada.

“In Plateau State, a fake security agent, Babagana Maaji was arrested through a controlled delivery of 5.6kg cannabis from Lagos.

“The suspect based in Damaturu, Yobe State, was nabbed following the interception of a commercial bus bringing the consignment from Lagos to Gombe in Mararaban Jos on 8th Jan.

“On Tuesday 11th Jan, operatives of the Plateau Command of the Agency also arrested a suspected bandit, Abdullahi Usman Ahmad, 28, at Hwolshe with One Beretta pistol; seven rounds of live ammunition; two empty shells; 12 grams of cannabis sativa; a pair of handcuffs and N1, 136,344), suspected to be ransom money as well as an Opel car with registration number ZAR35LQ.”

Starting with Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa LGAs, the Peoples Governor donated many Sharon Motors to ease inter-local government transportation of goods and people in the area.

Gov Kaura also shared numerous tricycles popularly known as Keke Napep to make movement easy and create employment and opportunities for the youths in the local governments.

Gov Bala Mohammed also distributed multiple boxer motorcycles for youths across villages in Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa Local Governments for smooth movements across the villages and helmets.

For empowering women to be productive in the society, the governor distributed numerous sewing machines to women for their economic progress.

Cash of N50,000 each and Kegs of oil were equally used to empower women across the LGAs to be self-reliant and contribute their quota to the economic development of the LGAs

The People’s Governor also gave out
Grinding Machines to women and women groups for their economic development to be more productive in the society.

I sell body parts and eat human organs – Zamfara car dealer confesses

A car dealer at Aminchi Motors Gusau, Zamfara state, has confessed to engaging in cannibalistic activities.

Aminu Baba confessed to eating human organs and selling some after being arrested and paraded by the police.

The man was arrested last week over the killing and dismemberment of a 9-year-old boy in Gusau.

Speaking to journalists, Aminu disclosed that he has three wives and 19 children. He further revealed that he employed two teenagers to scout for young boys to kill for him and they had done that twice, getting N1million in return.

He said;

“I paid them N500,000 for each of the killing of the two young boys. We removed penis, eyes, intestines and Esophagus and I used to eat these human organs and sell some to those who need them.”

The car dealer however refused disclosing where he got the money he paid the killers. He also did not disclose whether he had collaborators in the state.

The state police commissioner, Mr Ayuba N Elkanah said the other suspect, Abdulshakur Mohammad, had confessed that that was the third time he was contracted by Baba to source for human parts.

He said he got N500,000, after the first and second operations before he was arrested. He reportedly connived with Baba and Ahmad Tukur to deceive the victim, who was taken to an uncompleted building.

After killing their victim, they removed his intestine, esophagus, private part and two eyes, which they took to Aminu who in return gave them N500,000 as agreed.

The killing of the 9-year-old boy identified as Ahmad Yakubu Aliyu came to liof the nine year old boy identified Ahmad Yakubu Aliyu was found in an uncompleted building in Barakallahu area of Gusau metropolis.

Ahmad went missing shortly after he came back from Islamiyya School in Gadar Baga area of the city.  The owner of the building spotted the decomposing body of the little boy when came to continue his construction work.

He immediately closed the site and reported the matter to the police who later confirmed that Ahmad was killed and dumped.

FG Lifts Twitter Suspension

The Federal Government has lifted the ban on microblogging site, Twitter, seven months after it suspended the social media platform in Nigeria.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Chairman Technical Committee Nigeria-Twitter Engagement and Director-General National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi.

“The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) directs me to inform the public that President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has approved the lifting of the suspension of Twitter operation in Nigeria effective from 12am tonight, 13th January 2022. The approval was given following a memo written to the President by the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof Isa Ali Ibrahim,” the statement added.

Gov. Lalong condemns another attack in Bassa, directs security forces to fish out attackers

Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State has again expressed deep sadness over another attack in Ancha village of Bassa Local Government which left many dead and properties destroyed.

Lalong said the attack which was carried out on Tuesday night is another sad tale in the unending cycle of violent attacks in the area which has continued despite several measures taken by Government.

He ordered security agencies to ensure that they fish out the attackers at all costs, as bringing such perpetrators to justice is the only way to halt the barbaric killings.

The Governor asked the GOC 3rd Armoured Division and Commander Operation Safe Haven; The Commissioner of Police; Department of State Services; Operation Rainbow and other security organs in the State to utilise intelligence available from survivors and other sources and ensure that the perpetrators of this and other attacks are apprehended and exposed.

While commiserating with the families of those killed and survivors, the Governor directed the Plateau State Emergency Management Agency and the Peace Building Agency to move in and assess the damage as well as offer immediate humanitarian interventions.

Meanwhile, the Governor has praised security forces for bursting a kidnap group and rescuing some victims in Barkin Ladi, describing the action as heart warming and a prove that criminals will not be allowed to rest in Plateau State.

He directed further investigation and arrest of the fleeing suspects to be prosecuted, promising that those found guilty will face the law, which prescribes death penalty for convicted kidnappers.
